Don't we need to look for long term profits
rather than short term benifits

BPOs are bane to India as we have become too much dependent on offshored jobs/$ which would eventually move to other lower cost coutries once our wages go up. This would result in economic slow down chaos in next 5-10 years.

This BPO boom is also the reason for rising prices which middle class & lower class people are unable to afford. Take Bangalore for example where the lowered salaried people have to move out of the city due to high rental costs within the city.

Moreover due to high salaried jobs in BPO - people are abandoning agriculture, small scale industries etc., and are jumping to BPO band wagon. This is another reason for price rise as we need to import wheat etc., from other countries. People also migrate from villages to cities in search of good salaried jobs.

Also agricultural lands are being taken over for large SEZ (Software export Zones) and the dependent industries (Car plant in West Bengal, Real Estate boom - Housing/Shopping complexes etc.,).

Also in SEZs companies don't have to pay tax for 10+ years while the common salaried man pays huge tax. This means the corporates + the rich get richer & poor gets poorer. Also the corporates take the profits/money back to their country which results in first world countries getting more richer while we remain to be the third world country FOREVER. Also inventions at Indian offices of multi national companies are being patented in US, Europe etc., and we loose in terms of buying for higher price the licensed version of products (computer processors, operating systems, softwares etc.,) which we had invented.

The gap between rich & poor widens, which results in rise in crime as poor are unable to afford high living costs. Also white colored crimes are in rise as politicians, crooks try to make money in this BPO boom.

Let it be a boon or burden, the government has got just this method to employ its educated [atleast upto +2 and not highly skilled even graduates] guys to prevent them from taking the path of revolution or terrorism due to frustration.
You must also remember one thing that a hungry human can never get educated. So we need to earn to fill our stomachs but now the hunger is for luxury, anyway hunger is hunger. You and I cannot stop the world.Let us wait and watch, it is very early to give the result as boon or burden.

Be active always and keep the environment clean and healthy. To have a good understanding with the local residents and avoid chances for the neighbourhood disputes. Try to stop the new entrants to the locality, (by purchasing the land or building) especially those with a different culture and goals or unable to adopt the local culture. Further to discourage the excessive development of transportation and news media (that disclose the weakness of the locality to outer world and attract the outsiders to migrate for taking the advantages - like the British conquered India once. These are my advice to the new generation youth and you can see me in front with the flag, if at all required.
