I really think so. Its been so long since I've had real chicken that it's hard for me to remember how they taste but I do remember being skeptical about trying all the fake meat products. Now I love them! Some people think its gross because they dont know what's in the fake meat but no one really knows what is in the real meat , either. My suggestion is pick a meat product that you like and then find the soy counterpart and just try it. Mix it up with the different brands (hippie stores like Whole Foods and Wild Oats have a better selection of vegetarian brands than your average supermarket) I used to like hamburgers so now I get the spicy chicken patties and dress it with the veggies and condiments I would use on a burger and it tastes sooo good. Plus its easy to bring a chicken pattie to a bbq and cook it on the grill, hust like the real meat. My other favorites are the buffalo wings (suprisingly good), corn dogs, and chicken strips.
Each product has different cooking instructions so just read the package and you'll be fine.
Good Luck

Not ALL of them taste like the real thing....a lot do though. You don't cook it the same way in that it is not a "raw meat" so, you're not really going to be worried about killing the Salmonella and the same bacteria you find in real chicken. A lot of time you can just microwave these items...or a quick saute w/ other ingredients. FYI, the BEST i ever had was in a vegan Sonoma Chik'n Salad from the deli at Whole Foods...it tasted better than the real thing! Dang, I want some now. I hope this helps!

Some of the products taste like meat, others don't. Bocca makes a good burger that comes close to tasting like a regular burger, but the texture isn't there.
Morningstar Farms makes awesome chick'n nuggets. If you've ever had a school lunch w/ chicken nuggets, they taste remarkably similar.
Yves makes some awesome meatless meatballs. To me, they are really good and are quite close to what I used to eat. LifeSmart also makes some good chicken strips (like for stir-frying) and those are good. You do have to add your own seasoning and they do season well.
It's just a matter of personal taste and preference. It is an acquired taste, so you might have to try a few brands to see what you like best.

My family went vegetarian for about 6 months (the clincher for me was my refusal to serve something called To-Furkey for Thanksgiving)
My daughter had a very hard time giving up meat, but did like some of the ready-made chicken patties and chicken nuggets. Sausage is ok, too... most of the flavor in sausage comes from the spices used, so it's an easy flavor to replicate. Texture is huge for me, so I never really adapted well. Thankfully Ring Dings and Pringles aren't meat!

Boca "Chik'n" patties taste exactly like real chicken patties.Gardenburger "BBQ veggie Riblets" taste really great too. There are plenty of good veggie burgers and mock deli meats like turkey, salami and bologna slices. You can grill veggie burgers,or microwave them,or just put some oil in a pan and cook them like that. You should also look for "Amy's kitchen" products, they are all vegetarian and all organic.

Not exactly the same, but close. The flavors have gotten much better in the last few years. A good percentage of that stuff is microwaveable.

You can definitely tell what's real and what's not. Nothing they make can taste EXACTLY like the real thing. The texture and taste are both off, even if it has come along way.

I would not use that. Either we eat vegetarian foods, or we eat meat. We don't know what they put in all these imitations. Better look into what foods can replace meat for nutritional value.
