I am really in a rush to receive my ID so i can go to Jamaica. Anyone know how long does it take to receive an ID from California

go to your DMV and get it, same day.
and if you are travaling on a cruise you will need a passport by Jan 2008, before that you will be fine.

About 30 seconds. You walk into the DMV. You can go into anyone so if one has a long line it's often faster to go to one that is in a bad location and no one knows about. You walk in--show your forms of id and get your picture taken. No time at all as long as there isn't a long line and you have the right forms of id.
How are you going to Jamaica b/c they are right about checking to make sure you don't need a passport. http://travel.state.gov

same as a drivers license, by the way are you aware you need a passport now?? those take way longer, might need to apply now and go next summer
