Atheists say that they are smarter than Christian? Is that true at all?

Poor countries are more propense to believe in Jesus. Rich country are less likely to believe in God. Where there are more rich people, there is better education. However, education does not mean you are smarter. For example, here in USA we have tons of college, maybe more than in China and Japan, economy is also better, however, education in Japan and China is years ahead of the US.

Christian are not less smart, it is just that countries where economy is not that good, tend more to be Christian or of any other religious.

Behavior show how smart people are, smart people discuss and talk about what they believe, not about what they dont believe.

Most atheists bahavior is to make fun of Christian. Smart atheists do not make fun of religious. For example, Bill Gate. He says "religion is interesting" but he preffer explore something else. He has not said he is smarter than Christian.

Who is smarter?

Intelligence is negatively correlated with religious belief, as has been shown by numerous studies. And these studies are generally carried out in a single country, so your theory about countries with poor education doesn't apply.
And before I offend any idiots, I'm not saying that all atheists are more intelligent than all theists, or that I'm more intelligent than you. I'm simply summarising dozens of studies which have found that, on average, atheists are more intelligent than theists.

Statistics and stereotypes are unfair and inaccurate. You can't make a statement like "atheists are smarter and more educated than Christians" because I know a lot of smart Christians and a lot of dumb atheists. Overall that statement may be true but it's not fair to those of us Christians who are intelligent and educated.

I dont understand this fight between atheists and christians, each believe their own. Just leave it at that? There are better subjects and more fun in this world.

To answer your question in simple words, atheists must be smarter because they dont have to spend their time reading bible, going to church, feeling guilty, obeying god etc etc. So they can spend all that time in studying and gaining more material knowledge in turn becoming smarter.

I don't believe intelligence has any bearing at all on whether one is Christian or not.

The biggest factor is human nature! Humans tend to take things for granted very quickly and bite the hand that feeds them very quickly! Not just with religion, but with government, parents, bosses, and they especially forget about those that died in past wars to give them the freedom and wealth they have today.

Just look at civilization in general. Every great civilization fell to its ruin because its people began to take what they had for granted. They become so in grossed in there wealth and having everything that they no longer wanted to do whatever it took to get them there in the first place.

The simple fact is, human nature tells us that the more we have, the less we need God. The more we have, the less we are willing to listen or follow others. All sounds great to an independent minded person who thinks they know it all, problem is that it always leads to some kind of destruction. It may not be you or I who are lead to destruction, but certainly our children will take things more for granted than we do, and at some point they will be forced to return to there roots, to simpler things and back to God.

I agree with the point you made. It's less about who's smarter than whom than it is about who's more educated than whom.
And Bill Gates might well say one thing in public and another thing entirely in private. In fact, he might be on here right now posting condescending remarks anonymously using an avatar!

No actual opinion yet with the aid of going to conflict with the commonplace public backing of the US electorate did they stand to benefit greater or lose? What replaced into the finished $ loss through fact of 9/11? what's the finished value of the wars thus far? might there be a miles less costly thank you to mobilize the commonplace public for conflict than 9/11?

The number of colleges in the US compared to those in Japan and China are irrelevant. They receive a far superior education in the primary and secondary years that US children do. I would bet their high school graduates are at the same level as our college graduates.

I thoroughly enjoyed your sharing and your thoughts were well written out. Its interesting that God takes the simple things of this world to confound the wise. The simplicity of God somehow escapes man. The wisdom of man is foolishness to God for some reason. The thing about knowledge is that it gives information but it does not give life. When a baby is born you do not read a book about milk to it... you actually feed it real milk and this baby grows and is nourished. In the garden there were the two trees.. One was of the Knowledge of Good and Evil .. and the other was the Tree of Life. Knowledge does NOT equal to Life.. infact not even Good Knowledge is equal to Life. We can choose even as christians to seek after some good knowledge regarding God.. to know ABOUT Him ...but in the end still miss really experiencing Him as our life.
A quick story
Two men were singing the 23 rd psalm... ONe was younger and did an amazing rendition of this song for the audience, who cheered and hooted in glee over his performance.. Next an older man came and sang the same song...His voice was not as polished.. he cracked on the notes.. but He sang it from His whole heart.. from the inner depths of his being.. at the end .. there was not a dry eye to be seen . THe younger man later approached this older brother and asked him " what did u do out there.. those people were in tears after you sang the exact same song!"
The Older brother looked at the younger and said.. " you may know the psalm and sing it very well.. which you did.. but my dear one.. after many years... i lived a life of experiencing CHrist as my Shepherd"

SO knowledge is not everything. And sometimes the more we know the more closed we can become to whats really on GOd's heart.. AS believers we DO need to read and feed in the word and know the truth from a lie BECAUSE we handle the word of truth.... but it must not just end there.. we need to experience what we know.. and many times the HOly Spirit uses all our different hard environments to WORK INTO US.. what we KNOW of GOd.. work our Knowledge that it becomes our experience.

SO no.. atheists are not smarter... they can probably quote the psalms.. but to really experience the psalms .. they need a personal encounter with the Good Shepherd.. Jesus CHrist.

No, a belief system does not make you more or less intelligent. Lack of education makes you more or less intelligent. Poor countries are less likely to have a good education system.

It's much easier to anonymously make fun of something that we're too lazy to truly explore, and honest questions are the most difficult to ask.

It's also lazy to make unfounded assertions...and atheists, agnostics and people of faith do this all the time.

I don't think that faith or lack-of-faith is correlative to the amount of money one has...wealth tends to make people lazy, though...
