Did it perform OK after the head gasket was fitted?Did it happen suddenly? It is not at all unusual for a Vectra to go to 200,000 plus if its serviced OK.Did your engine management light come on the one that looks like an engine with a lightning flash in the centre of it.If it did come on your car has possibly gone into a limp home mode this would explain your poor performance. If this is so come back on line i can help you more if thats the case.Regards Mick work on Vectras.

Well, for all the slam bang answers, I assumed she had the Vectra for the 128,000 miles and was wondering why other people didn't like it. Optimist.

if you blew a head gasket the question is did you also rebuild the head? if your having running problems it might have been more than just a gasket. you might have a burnt valve, or a sticking or bent valve. if it overheated you might have damaged the head. the shop you took it to should have milled the head to make sure it was not warped. sorry can't say more without knowing the specific problem your having.

Told you - EX FLEET car - been thrashed to the point of death and given a quick clean up and service - common with all Vectra's that are ex fleet/company cars - sorry to say it BUT, they saw you coming.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy a car with that high a mileage in the VECTRA - MONDEO range. Thrashed to bits.
