This is for a couple who is not too concerned with the "norm", and has already discussed marriage - This being said, any creative ideas to propose in reverse? It's not a question of if he will say yes, but more about creating a story that will be told for years to come :)

Nope, sorry. Mans POV here. Look, it is very emasculating to have a woman propose. If you did this in public I think that he would be more embarrassed than surprised or excited. He probably knows, if you've talked about it, what he wants to do and he'll ask you when hes ready. Now if it takes a long time, then you need to do a few things. Talk about it a lot. Rent tons of sappy wedding movies and tell him how beautiful that would be. Your job is to plant the seed in his mind, NOT to propose to him. I'm not some chauvinist here, I'm married, and when I proposed to my wife it was amazing. If you do this you will embarrass him.

Just go with simple. Lucky you are so sure he will say yes.
I wouldn't do it - because I guess I really want that engagement ring, not because I'm materialistic, but I LOVE the symbolism of the ring as a promise to get married.
Good luck, hope he likes the ring you got him!!!

I agree with Peck. The woman shouldn't ask because the man won't be as committed to the whole idea and might feel emasculated.

a girl proposing a to guy is totally normal...but since girls like the way guys do it because they want to see how romantic they can get ...so thats why they leave it up to the guy i would never propose to a guy...in fact i dont think i ever want to get married....AT ALL!!!.

How about getting tons of balloons and either have them say "Will you marry me?" on them or make him have to pop a bunch and one is filled with confetti that says "will you marry me" on it. Another idea... like the old Burma Shave ads (if you don't know them look em up on the internet) but have kids line up in your neighborhood each holding one word on the sign that spells out what you really want to tell him. That gets lots of people involved and everyone will wonder what is going on. Neither one of you will forget it.

Just thought of these ideas:

1. She buys a man's diamond ring (or a gemstone he'd like). She finds two unusual bride and groom dolls: trolls, Weebils, Legos, Playmobil, even Barbie and Ken. She puts the dolls in a toy car or on a model motorcycle. The ring is in the car's back seat or trunk, or the motorcycle's handle. She wraps this as a present, or she wheels the vehicle and the two dolls into a room where he is.

2. She chooses a song, or writes a song. She plays guitar or hires a guitarist. She sings the proposal to him, either in private or in public, like in a park, restaurant, or the theater district. Variation: she takes him to a cabaret show and has the singer dedicate a song to him, or a karaoke event where she sings her proposal to him.

3. She hires two clowns, male and female, to act out a proposal scene or wedding scene. Then she proposes. Or, she could use two dolls or two puppets.

4. She takes him to a sporting event and the proposal is broadcast on the big screen. (I know: it's been done.)

5. She fashions a ticket--like a theater ticket or sports ticket--that invites him to his own wedding.
