you are supose to stay away from dairy products... the piercer should have told you what to and not eat before oyu left... they told me to stick with liqued foods for about a week ... they also told me to stay way from dairy foods... try popsicles and stuff like that... dont worry you will learn to chew right ,, it takes a little while... i bit mine when i first got it .. it can hurt but now ive had it for a year and im fine... Try not to eat solid food they say not to eat this beacuase it can get stuck between your tongue and then if it heals and you dont get the food out it wont be fun ... also you will have a little bit of white stuff that comes out it is normal dont worry...only worry if there is tons coming out this means it is infected and go to a doctor... BUT try not to eat sold foods it sucks you will get hungry but if it hurts enough you wont want to eat...i lived off a liquid diet for a week and i was fine... it didnt hurt when i got it dont but it hurt the next day... good luck hope i helped

It all depends on different people, some people can go out and eat pizza while others are eating yogurt just find what you personally can eat. Just make sure you dont eat spicy foods since that can irratate it also the reason why your gonna be biting down on your tongue ring is because the bar is a lot bigger so your tongue has room to swell. Just make sure you clean your mouth out after everytime you eat and if you are using mouthwash use one that has no alcohol in it because alcohol is too harsh on a new peircing. Its also ok to use seasalt.

You should take it easy for the next week probably, soft food, like mashed potatoes, sandwiches, soup, things like that. And especially if you're having trouble with biting the barbell, be careful, you can break a tooth! The most important thing is remembering that you should clean it after eating, drinking, smoking, etc. We always recommended a solution of half listerine and half water (sometimes just straight listerine is too irritating). Remember you can use ice for swelling also. That's important in the first couple of days.

Your piercer should have given you aftercare instructions. Basically you need to brush your teeth three times a day (two at least, if you can't brush in the middle of the day) and follow up each brushing by rinsing for thirty seconds with a non-alcohol based, antimicrobial mouthwash such as Biotene. If you can't find Biotene (definitely check Walgreen's if you have one) an organic, non-alcohol mouthwash such as Tom's of Maine or Dr. Ken's will suffice. You will have trouble eating solid foods until the swelling and pain go away. Popsicles, plain unsweetened apple sauce, finely shaved ice (snow-cone consistency),mashed bananas, cooled mashed potatoes and soy based smoothies are best. No hot foods as that causes inflammation. No caffeine, smoking, chewing gum, hard candy, oral play such as certain sex acts or open mouth kissing even with a monogamous partner or drinking alcoholic beverages for fourteen days. While it still hurts you may want to abstain from eating spicy foods or foods/beverages high in citric acid content. Don't be alarmed if you begin to hyper salivate and feel the urge to swallow often. Take Motrin for the swelling. If your tongue develops a green or brown film across the surface you're rinsing with mouthwash too frequently. Rinse your mouth out with clean water after eating or drinking anything other than ice or water. Don't play with your piercing by sucking on your tongue, nibbling on the beads or excessively sticking your tongue in and out and clicking the beads on your teeth. Trust me, you'll be tempted, but don't do it and try to limit such behavior even after it's healed as you risk tooth and gum problems doing that. At the ten day mark you need to go back to your piercer and have them change your starter barbell to a shorter one. Always wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before handling your piercing and check to make sure the beads are securely tightened (but don't strip the threads!) before going to bed and when you get up in the morning. You cannot put any sort of acrylic, BioPlast, retainers or novelty barbells in your tongue until it has healed and even then try and limit using such jewelry on a temporary basis only as they're not suitable for long-term wear.

You shouldn eat meat, rice or grassy food, do not drink coffee all this during at least 6 days.

Oral sex is not recommended during 5 days or so!! LOL I am serious about this, sorry man!

Plz use Listerine at least 3 times a day.

Dont worry about the bite thing it happens the first days, u will get used to ur tongue ring. :D

Well, I hope this helps

ooh what I really like is the frosties from wendy's they are delicious and cold so it will help the swelling go down. I would try not to chew until the swelling goes down because you can bite it (as you already have) and that could tear it and increase the chances of infection. Cold water with ice and if you're really hungry (because you will) I ate those ramen noodle thingies because I can swallow the noodles without having to chew it.

you should be eating things that don't require you to chew a lot. i ate rice and pudding and ice cream and oat meal. it is only for a week so just eat stuff like that and be sure to rinse often to keep it from getting infected.
