The United States of America was founded on Christian (not Catholic) principals. This thinking has allowed the greatest opportunity for tolerance of other beliefs and the protection by law for those beliefs.

Countries rooted in Islam are the least tolerant, and most imposing governments on the planet. Not even China (known for it's insufferable intolerance) is so imposing as muslim countries. (minus N.Korea...but just as bad)

So why do muslims shout "intolerance" at Christians when Muslims are the MOST intolerant?

Because it's projection of their own flaw to others, just like dishonest people are quick to point out dishonesty in others, even if it does not exist.

1. Catholics are Christians. There is not a separation there. Maybe you meant "Protestant."
2. Just because something isn't the worst example of something doesn't mean its not bad. Yeah, Muslim governments are pretty intolerant. However, atheists are a subjugated minority in America. To the same degree as those in a Muslim country? By no means. But there are important differences in the religions (such as the inherent separation of church and state in Christianity, as in give unto Caesar what belongs to Ceasar, etc. vs. Muslim law, which in many ways commands a universality and governance by Muslim authority).

First of all, all Catholics are Christians.

Secondly, you're making a generalization by saying that all Muslim governments are intolerant. Look at Egypt and Turkey. Yes, they still have their problems, but they're the best example of westernized Islamic democracies that have been successful.

Because it's wrong. Do you say to a child who's punched one of his friends "it's ok, because other people do far worse than that" - no you say it's wrong and that he shouldn't do it.

Ever heard of setting a good example?

First of all the US was founded on Humanistic principles. Half the founding fathers weren't Christian when it was all said and done.
And honestly the tolerance thing comes down to the "one true religion" crap.
