In WWII Catholics did not turn on Catholics because they were Catholic. This was a War Of Hate.
If you were in the ranks of the Nazi party you did as you were told along with your children did what they were told and knew nothing Else. So in a since some Catholics did turn on other Catholics it was a WAR of the WORLD not a HOLY WAR. That is why it is called World War II.
Many Catholics were killed during WWII for helping some of the Jewish people.Millions of people were killed in the Holocaust. Six million Jews and five million non-Jews (Slavs, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Political Enemies, Jehovah's Witnesses, sympathetic citizens, etc). This figure includes the camps as well as the mass graves in the country sides, killings on the street, organized shootings (such as Babi Yar, etc.) and basically, any person singled out for their religion, political beliefs, or their sexual persuasion.
So as to your question I feel it is sad to make it into something it wasn't. The war of hate was a horrible ordeal in world history.

I am not Catholic but i don't think they targeted their fellow Catholics but it doesn't change the fact that Catholics and other religions joined the war and killed. That is not a valid excuse to unknowingly kill your fellow brother in faith. First of all, Jesus said YOU MUST NOT KILL! yet, these professed Christians will die for their country in war and have blood in their hands killing others.
That is the reason why Jesus said, "you are no part of this world...." (like...politics and everything that goes with it).
That is why we, Jehovah's Witnesses don't go to war...because if we did just like other Christians, no doubt we'd be killing our fellow brothers in faith as well.
Instead, all Jehovah's Witness practices love which accordign to Jesus Christ is the mark of his true disciples. (John 13:35)

Catholics did not "target" other Catholics -- as in "hey, there's another Catholic -- let's kill him!"
Protestants didn't do that either.
Rather, combatants engaged in battle with enemy combatants. This went for everybody, including the atheist ones.

I didn't realize they did. I mean I knew catholics were targeted in the Holocaust as well but not that Catholics targeted them. Hitler did. And we wasn't all there if you know what I mean.
