Your better off not grilling, you'd have a huge mess on your hands. Just marinate them the night before in a mixture of olive oil, italian seasoning, salt and pepper, a little balsamic vinegar. Then, before your party, thread them on a skewer and place on a platter for a cold appetizer.

I would grill the tomatoes first and then add the cheese and wrap in tinfoil. Put them back on the grill to warm cheese, not to long, though. Maybe 1 1/2 - 2 min.

this sounds like a great idea. soak bamboo skewers in water for a while so they dont scorch. i would take grape tomatoes and halve them and small fresh mozzarella balls halved too. maybe a little red onion too if you like it. then skewer them up and salt, pepper, olive oil them. then to the grill for maybe a minute or so each side. good luck.

Maybe super-quick on a super-low heat, but honestly, I can't picture it. I'm just seeing the mozzarella ooze into your grill.
Why not roast tomatoes, chill, then skewer w/ mozzarella cubes? Garnish w/ EVOO or a light vinaigrette after skewering.

mmmmmmm sound wonderful you might have to grill the tomatoe whole and the mozzerella in chunks, you might also want to make some extras to put in a pasta salad

doesn't cheese melt?
maybe just grill the tomatoes, then make the kabobs.
eggplant would go well with that.
marinate everything in italian dressing first.
good luck.....sounds delicious
