You should just pay the June 15th payment as soon as possible using the second 2007 voucher. You don't have to write a letter or do anything else at this time.
When the payment is received by the IRS it would serve to stop the accrual of any underpayment penalty that is accumulating because of the late payment.
When you do your return next year you might want to look at form 2210 annualizing income to see if that calculation will reduce or eliminate any penalty for paying late.

Pay it now. You will get a letter from the IRS with proposed penalties. Write a letter then and explain why you didn't pay on time. Ask them to abate the penalty. If your reason is good, and it's the first time, they will usually remove the penalty. It does no good to try and explain it now. The computer will automatically generate the penalties due.

This answer assumes your talking about employee taxes-941. If your talking about 1040-ES, it still does no good to send a letter now.
Hope this helps.

If this is your personal estimated tax, you can send it now - there might be a penalty.

As long as you pay in enough through the year, there wouldn't be a penalty when you file, so if you increase your payments for the remaining quarters to make up for the missing one, you'd get by.

Just pay it. Any excuse you give will not matter; you will still get a penalty.

you need to call them, before they send you to court and take you to prison.

The IRS will find you and get their money eventually.

that's funny cause the postman came to the house and made me sign for a letter from the IRS. I forgot to pay something from last year.
