I am a guy (28 yrs old) and i have been wanting to go to a salon to have my nails done (fingernails and toenails)l. Im wanting to get a full set of fiungernails appplied. Is this normal for guys or not?

I make my fiance get regular manicures. He's works at an executive level and I think it's important that his hands look as good as the rest of him. He keeps the process very simple just getting the nails trimmed as well as the cuticles. He has the nail bed buffed but nothing beyond that. No clear coat and certainly no fake nails. He also does get a pedicure on occasion. . .honestly nobody wants to see gross calloused feet, especially in the summer. Bottom line, there is nothing abnormal about wanting to look your best.

I find it kind of funny, and I don't think men should really go to the salon and get their nails done, unless it's needed, as in your nails are cracked, yellow, and crusty. I do know it's not normal for men to go to the salon and get their nails done like girls do, girls like to go just for fun and get their nails all pretty. That's not really a guy thing, but hey if you really want to go ahead.

You would be shocked to know how many men go to the salon. I worked in one for about a year and until then I never knew that that many men tanned and got nails done and waxing too, so go and dont feel self concious at all!

Guys going to the Salon is normal for mani pedi but not for a set of nails... that's more of a drag thing.

You don't want to get the fake nails put on dude. They can clean up your nails and make them look nice and maybe apply a coating to keep them strong, but getting the fake one applied will probably look funny.
Best thing to do is find a reputable manacurist and find out what they think... they will know what will look good and what will be over the top.

I wouldn't say normal, but it is relatively common. Usually well manicured nails (at least fingernails) are common in upper level business.

I know guys who've had manicures but they went to have their hands softened and their nails buffed and shined. Whatever makes you feel good is all that matters so go ahead and have tips applied.

Whatever makes you happy, you should go for it. Getting finernails applied causes damage. I always just get a manicure and pedicure.
