They are both good and perform different jobs, which in my opinion almost make it like comparing apples and oranges. The USAF mainly provides air superiority and the USN manily provides close air support to troops on the ground. But the Naval Aviators land on the ship and I think that gives them a slight edge.

As far at the war games between the USAF and the USN and the USN getting their butt kicked...I am not so sure of that. I served in a Navy Adversary squadron that flew the F/A-18 and provided adversary support as their primary mission. We routinely beat the USAF F-16s. We fought the F-15s and close in using superior tactics we were able to win. The problem was getting close enough.

Army all the way hooah!! But on a serious not i'd definatly say the air force, they have a much larger variety of air craft with more technology. They've got the f-22 and the b-2, arguably two of the best air craft ever invented. Not to mention some of the most tried tested and true air craft ever flown, like the b-52 and the A-10

It depends on the aircraft and the weapon system. For instance the winners of the air to ground challenges have been flying the A-10, which would give that award to the airforce. For the air to air combat, the airforce would soon be flying the F-22 and the navy would be flying the F-35. Since they couldn't lock on to one another, I think they will have to find a different way to do that challenge and it will probably go to the person flying the F-22.

They are both the BEST at accomplishing their assigned tasks.

The only major difference being that Carrier thing. Does take a lot more training for landing and take off.

Once in the air the Fighters are equally lethal.

Ability to damage would go the the B52 and B1.

If Maverick and Goose were still flying I'd say Navy but since they aren't, I'll have to go with the Air Force.

That's a tough call. But I like what I have seen out of the Navy. Although I have served in both branches.
