If you do not want to add eggs or bread crumbs ( I never would), then you need to focus on the creation of the patty. Take the time to form it into the right size and apply firm pressure when shaping it. It will adhere to itslef better that way.
Also, add extra virgin olive oil when your mixing your seasoning in with the ground beef, the flavor it imparts is good and has the added benefit of being a anti-stick agent on the grill rack.

While adding some egg or bread or cracker crumbs will often help, the most common mistake is using ground beef that is too lean. The 92% and leaner stuff will fall apart more easily than the 75% or 80% varieties. This isn't such a problem with burgers as a lot of the fat is released in the cooking process and especially when grilled the flare-ups from the fat help to impart that unique taste.
Adding egg or crumbs does tend to change the flavor a bit as well and if you're a purist it's just not quite the same.

2 things you can do:
1. Don't flip them too early.
Let the burger cook a bit, this will form a "base" if you will, now flip the burger. If you flip the burger and it falls apart on the side you were cooking, you flipped it too early. If it starts to fall apart on the side that wasn't cooking, it's your technique. Slow down, take your time. Especially, if these are thick burgers.
2. Don't flip them too often. Again, let it cook a while on each side.
3. If you are still having problems after slowing down, letting each side cook, then the other thing would be preparation. Make sure the patty is well put together before grilling. To avoid this, I purchase the already prepared thick patties. You can also mix a little egg in it. This is how I make my meatballs, egg and crushed crackers.

I don't know that you need to do anything but press the meat together gently so it holds its shape ...you don't need to add anything if it is nicely ground with a little fat for moisture ......and be sure the grill is clean so the meat does not stick ... spray it ... and be sure to turn them carefully with a small pancake turner or similar tooL....turn once only .....
