Depends on the situation.
Many people don't truly want to die. They want the pain to stop. The chaos to stop. Life as they know it to stop because they can't find any other way. That isn't a rational decision.
Now if you are dying and there is no hope of recovery and are in awful pain...no I don't think anyone can stop that. Quality of life over quantity.

I think that the book Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren gives an excellent answer to this subject. We do not have the right to take a life of a human being, not even our own. God gives the life and He takes it away.
God has a special job for us, and if we don't do it, then no one else can do it. We do not know if life gets better. It is wrong to end a life.

Most of teh time people who commit suicide are trying to get get rid of a temporary problem in a permanent way. And most people want to die over silly and fickle things like a boyfriend or relationship or money....etc... I know there are greater reasons but I'm stating that most want to die over things that can be solved. we need to remember that: This to shall Pass! If you can live by these words then life cannot be that bad , as to wanting to die.

I believe that If a person truly wants to die then they should be allowed to die.
Theists believe that people who want to die should be forced to live.
Liberals believe government should decide when people can kill themselves.

We can't make laws about it. They can't be punished. But if they do it, they won't have a chance to repent after they die.
