I want a job to work from home in the field of mechanical Autocad drafting (both 2D & 3D). I have searched everywhere in the net but could not find anything satisfactory. I want to do the job for some extra earning for better economical support.

Good luck with that.
You could try and freelance and start your own small business.

Good luck finding that.

You could definitely get a job doing cad drafting at almost any engineering firm. It's been my summer job for two years now. But I've never come across anyone who would let you work from home.

In order to be able to work from home, you will probably have to start your own business.

There are many companies out there that farm their drafting work out because they do not require enough of it to keep drafting personnel on the payroll as permanent staffers.

If you set yourself up, and do a little advertising, and list yourself in the phonebook, you may be able to get work.

The big problem with working at home is communication.
In many cases the drafting process requires a lot of input from many other disciplines, and a person working at home isn't as effective as having a person in the office. We always required our temporary drafters to work in our offices on our equipment. That also keeps all the electronic files in-house, and they don't have to be transferred back and forth.

Also, a lot of companies want to keep their work as private as possible, and when it is farmed out of the office, it is impossible to control that.

If you are in the US, try putting an ad on craigslist.

Most work that can be farmed out is probably being farmed out to asia these days.
