You are confusing Christianity with Catholicism.

The disciples of Christ were first called Christians in Antioch in 33AD. This was the church of Christ which was founded by Jesus.

The Roman Catholic church is a product of Roman Paganism and can be traced back to the early Roman Emperor and no further. The Roman Empire persecuted Christians in the 1st and 2nd centuries. History shows us that it was in A.D. 606 old emperor Phocus, who was himself a murderer and an adulterer, appointed Boniface III as the first pope. That is a direct relationship between the Pagan Roman Empire and the Roman Catholic Church.

Christianity evolved from the Jewish religion and it was influenced by the Greeks more than Roman Paganism. I think Christianity mowed over Paganism not evolved from it.

Chrisitanity did not evovle from paganism. The paganism you see today, however, is not the same as ancient paganism. That form of paganism was wiped out as europe was so thoroughly converted to Christianity. The Paganism you see today began within the last century.

You have the wrong religions there. Christianity came from Judaism, and there are still Jews.

Some modern Christian practices were adopted from pagan customs in Europe.

The obvious answer is that not all people converted from the first faith.

If Christianity "evolved" from anything, it was Judaism. And the reason why Judaism is still around is because most of them deny that Jesus was the Messiah.
