My favorite are the ones that you can buy from non-profit organizations that contain recipes submitted by regular people. Even my work puts together an annual cookbook, and those recipes are usually the ones I use most often.

I love all of Rachel Ray and Paula Deen's cookbooks, but to tell you the truth, I use www.foodnetwork.com more than any cookbook because I can get right to what I need really quickly and I don't have to flip through pages worrying about getting paper cuts. I really hope I helped!

Biba Caggiano is an Italian cookbook author that has a line of cookbooks. Not only are her books well written with informative essays about the origin of the recipes, ingredients, and cities the recipes are native to; but they are super simple to use, and best of all, they produce easy, delicious meals with everyday ingredients. "Biba's Northern Italian Cooking" is my favorite.

I have 3 that I dearly love and use often.

1. White Trash Cooking by Ernest Matthew Mickler (most recipes are just simple deep south comfort food)
2. Top Secret Restaurant Recipes by Todd Wilbur (Hooters Pasta Salad, TO DIE FOR)
3. Entertaining With The Sopranos as compiled by Carmela Soprano

The one I am writing myself. It is not for general publication. It is simply a group of favorite recipes I have, and other family members (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) It's a small collection of about 100 or so recipes on slips of paper, cards, clipped from now defunct magazines, etc. Now that I have a computer, I'm typing them in and as I do so, all sorts of family memories come floating back like the aroma of delicious food.
