Can you please tell me if I did something stupid or freaky or is this considered normal dating? I'm not familiar with the rules of dating, I've been out of the world of dating for a while.

My boyfriend called me when I was cleaning. I didn't hear the ringing at first. Just when I grabbed the phone, the ringing stopped. Without thinking much, I called him right back. I mean, I had the phone in my hands?
Only afterwards I started thinking, if I did something stupid or freaky? Should i have waited for him to call me again, or called him back sometime later? Or is this OK? We have been exclusive about 6 weeks.
When I called him, he didn't talk long, we just made the plans we were supposed to.

What would be freaky about it? You didn't make it to the phone in time, so you returned his call promptly. I don't see anything wrong with that. I would just see it as you being courteous.

Whoa, Nellie!
Now you've done it! You actually CALLED HIM BACK!?!?!
He'll know exactly what kind of woman you are, now.
Ummmmmm?
I don't understand what you are talking about, kid. It is normal courtesy to return a call when you discover having missed it. Since you called back immediately, you could be sure that he was a) near his phone and b) wanting to talk to you.
Don't over-analyze. Just behave as if he were a person you respect and like and you'll do fine.

Nothing wrong with calling someone back right away, (most people appreciate it actually) the reality of it is that you were not able to get to the phone in time to answer it.

Ok, I'm not a guy. But this seems like standard behavior. He calls you, you return the call. It would do that same thing with a guy I gave my number to yesterday as much as a husband.

You did nothing wrong. Why couldn't he have left a message instead of hanging up? I have a rule. If they call and leave a message, they get a call back. If they call and hang up and then expect me to call them back just because they are on the caller ID, they don't get a call back. Polite company breeds friendship. Rogue callers can sit alone.

Wow girl, are you stressing about nothing. Don't worry about it. Of course call right back. It's the polite and common sensical thing to do. I think his ego won't blow up too big. Relax and enjoy your relationship and don't worry about nonsense rules others want to say exist.

No that was fine "sorry I missed your call, I was running the vacuum". I can't see a reason why that would be the wrong thing to do after 6 weeks.

There's nothing wrong with that. Besides maybe that was what he wanted to talk about when he called you the first time.
