This person is saying about themself: I don't teach because I expect my students to be ignorant, and that's why i'm educating them, I teach them because of the possibility that I'll make them brilliant. A wonderful outlook for a teacher!

The person doesn't teach because they think the students are stupid, they teach because they think the students can be brilliant! It's a positive view on life.
