I'm just glad the President has read the Constitution. . . We can't yell at him when he abuses power and then yell at him some more when he uses a power that is clearly defined and granted. Libby has still been adjudicated guilty. . . so really what does it matter?

perjury the crime of swearing on oath that something is true which one knows to be false, or of telling a lie when under oath to tell the truth. Definition from The New Lexicon Webster's Dictionary. Perjury IS a crime, punishable by imprisonment, when done in a court of law. Doesn't matter if you are a liberal or a conservative. The difference between Scooter and Bill is that Bill was lying about his personal life and Scooter was lying about something that was directly related to his duties. One is really none of anybody's business and the other is everybody's business.

I think the President knows his people were at fault but in his estimation this was a political case that has nothing to do with being legal or not legal.

Libby was accused of concealing the fact that an agent that everybody already know was an agent, was identified to the medial The entire premise that he divulged the identity of a secret agent was false. Many feel that he was charged only to embarrass the Executive Branch of government.

Today, many who still hate our President don't like the fact that Libby is not going to jail. Those who know the truth know that Libby was a pawn in a bigger game to attack the President.

This is a rare case, however, where those on both sides of the argument have a legitimate concern in the search for justice. In this case, the President has made the final judgment.

Your opinion was wrong. Congress went after Libby in the made up Plame scandal. He was not charged with that because it wasn't a crime. So they went after him for something other than the charge. This whole thing is political. The left is after Cheney and Bush. They will destroy anyone to get there. Paris has two DUI convictions. She could have killed innocent people. Scooter endangered no one.

God forbid you ever forget a few details when you're telling a story second-hand. That's obviously a whole lot worse than drunk driving.

There was no crime committed in the story he was trying to tell, in the first place, so why should he have to go to jail?

Paris put people's lives at risk by driving drunk, and got away with driving on her suspended license the first time around, if you recall. She just didn't learn.

I get a bit nervous anytime I hear government prosecutors charging political enemies with the old "Lying to Prosecutors/Obstruction of Justice" charges. Most of us cannot remember every detail from periods in the past, so we give the best answer to our ability and then get screwed as mentioned above. Of course, one could always plead the 5th Amendment and convince everyone that he/she is hiding something. I applaud President Bush for doing the right thing!

Come one, everyone involved knew his sentence would be commuted. Libby voluntarily took the fall. Did you really think he would spend 1 second in prison? Now, watch for his next job-- I can guarantee that he will be set for life.

p.s. Obviously his crime was worse that Hilton's. Libby participated in a cover up of treason in the highest levels of the executive branch. Hilton's drove on a suspended driver license. No comparison.

Feels like when Clinton pardoned Marc Rich who was on the lamb at the time. Also feels like when Clinton pardoned 139 others on his last couple days in the whitehouse.

Libby committed no crime, other than being innaccurate with a special prosecutor, a prosecutor who was given unlimited funds and unlimited time to find SOMETHING..ANYTHING.

plame was "outted" by others, including her own husband...and she was never covert in the first place.

Libby was the sacrificial lamb fed to the liberal media. nothing more. Bush was right to pardon him.

now, let's examine all the pardons that KKKlinton pulled outta his butt in his last days...including PRican terrorists and fleeing criminals...
