Herodotus, the question was neutral. Asking questions doesn't mean I have assumptions about you, or anybody.

Jaskita, yes I am sure. Again, I'm not getting any atheist response but avoidance and anger.

I'm going to say from the sampling of answers I just received that the answer is no, atheists are not absolutely sure there is no God. Doesn't that make you agnostic instead of atheist?

AnArdRi...to ask "which truth are you speaking of" answers the question I asked. You see more than one truth available. Doesn't that defy the very definition of the word truth?

Jedi master, if you don't care to answer a question, then don't! I'm aware the question has been asked before. What does that matter to you? If you already answered it somewhere else, then pass on by.

Salient, your answer is something like I was hoping to get. Most of the atheists in YA are extremely territorial about the difference between atheism and agnosticism. Your answer makes them sound not so far apart..to me, anyway.

Yes, as an Atheist I am quite positive that no invisible creature exists who created everything and is watching every little thing that occurs. There is not a shred of doubt in my mind.

One is never absolutely sure of anything. I would place the probability of a God existing somewhere above that of the Tooth Fairy and somewhere below that of the Lamp Genie.
Who said anything about truth being relative. I don't believe that truth is relative. I just lack god belief.
Atheist is defined as "Without God Belief" this means an atheist assigns the probability of gods existing at less than or equal to 50 percent.
Atheism == (A) ( Theism ) == (Without) (God Belief )
Agnosticism on the other hand has nothing to do with belief at all. Agnosticism is about knowledege.
Agnosticism = (A) (Gnosticism) = (Without) (Fundamental Knowledge )

I'm reasonably certain that there is no God, at least as constituted in the three major monotheistic religions. The idea of Hell is completely absurd. Which truth are you speaking of?
By the way, the word "athiest" would be the superlative form of the adjective "athy," which does not exist.

Are you absolutely sure you're following the right faith?
Are you absolutely sure that none of the other 2500 + Gods exist? Perhaps you're following the wrong one.
I don't recall stating that truth is relative, but the perception of truth is relative, and sometimes the perception is more important. There are some black and white areas, but most of it is grey.

i'm not a hundred% advantageous God does not exist. i'm ninety 9% advantageous. i'm additionally not a hundred% fairies do not exist..... yet i'm ninety 9% advantageous. what's assumed without evidence would properly be brushed off without evidence. thus far as how existence began.... it rather is a project of technology stated as abiogenesis. it is the creation of existence from inert chemical compounds. John Sutherland from college of Manchester has created a million/2 RNA in a lab mimicking situations of early earth.... warmth and evaporation inclusive of could have been contemporary in a primitive lake mattress in the international billions of years in the past. thus far as i recognize, no one has made an entire RNA strand..... yet supply the scientists time... they have not been engaged on the difficulty for that long yet. RNA is known to be the precursor to DNA. the 1st single cellular organism bobbing up from uncooked chemical compounds could have been a single strand of RNA with a phospho-lipid cellular wall..... i think of this may be found out interior my lifetime.

Why would you assume that I believe the truth is relative, If I don't believe in God? I don't find enough evidence to believe in faeries, the moon being made of cheese, or the God of Abraham. This doesn't mean I have absolute proof, just that I can make a rational judgment of the available evidence.

interesting. there are no absolutes. are u absolute the gorgonbungerreflaken exists? even though i just made him up u can't prove he does not exist. so any one that states god absolutely exists has yet to achieve logic. in order to believe in god one must have faith. the is no way to prove or disprove the existence of god. i choose not to believe in any particular god other than my own. so praise the gorgonbungerreflaken!

I believe there's a God, hell, and the last question, I don't know. Some people say they are sure, but how can they? They aren't dead, are they? (To know whether hell or God exists). How can I be sure there's a God? Faith :)
