Buddha rebelled against and defied Hinduism. in actuality, he preached a clean process agnostic existence ( as different and unfavourable to the fundamentalist and fanatically racist kind of Srilanka). He avoided Sanskrit and prevented the found out pundits who had no love for the elementary guy or kindness to the vulnerable and exploited. He loathed the faith of customs and ceremonies consistent with blind ideals and superstitions. He emphasised the magnitude of on a daily basis existence right here and now and insisted on common and frugal existence and a compassion to the underdog. As such, he won't be able to be defined as a " Hindu ." this is M.ok.Gandhi who qualifies because of the fact the devotee. this is he who fell lifeless to the bullets of a fanatical bigot of the faith Gandhi so strenuously preached ! What a wierd and bewildering actuality that he{ Gandhi } who's recognized by skill of many " Hindus " as their present day-day avatar could be assasinated by skill of a fundamentalist { Nathuram Godse} of the same faith ! there is plenty nutrition for concept right here ...

Once lord Siva very strongly---used to recite daliy sri.Rudram Namakam and Chamakam in Anushtup Chandas daily after a bath before any food-After a great calamity in my family-I do not pray any God of any Religion.
My wife-more ardent devotee of lord Siva -who during "Pradosham'(two in a month) used to observe total fasting (except drinking pure water) for the whole day-and during Sivarathri 24 hours she will not eat & sleep-daily she would not eat even a grain of rice before offering to lord Siva with absolute ceremonial purity-after the tremendous calamity -she does not want to utter the even the name of lord Siva.
He has dropped my family like a ton of bricks.

Radha Krishna, and Caitanya Mahprabhu and all His associates!
ssvj, it makes me sad to think that you lost faith in God when a calamity occured.
These things that happen in our material life, and beloveds are all our karma, and not to be blamed on Bhagavan.
Many people believe that if God doesn't serve them or protect them from certain material things, they don't believe in God anymore. This is totally a wrong way of thinking.
God helps our soul, the body is inconsequential.
"I lost my job", "my beloved died in a horrible way", "I became paralyzed", "I am suffering a terrible incurable disease", "my innocent child has been raped and murdered", etc., etc, the list goes on, and all when I have been a very devout servant of God!! How can this be? I do not believe in God anymore"
This is not true devotion. This is a business like approach. I offer u puja, or praise, you protect my material interests.
God cares for your soul. whatever incidents need to occur in your life from previous karma or for a lesson, must be tolerated with increased faith in God. When calamity occurs, then this is the true test of your devotion. Grow-learn from such experiences.
And pray to God for detachment to this world, which will always be full of suffering and duality, and your never ending karma.
Pray for an ending of this karma freedom from it all, pure relationship with God, to understand that you are pure spirit soul, and have nothing really to do with the material world.
