Me and my mom and sister live w/ my moms bf. His daughter and i were g the respect issue at my house between Jessica L. and my mom, Dave and me.
Her lack of respect for her father absolutely kills me. It's as if he's so supposed to shower them with gifts so they shouldn't thank him. And little things like "Jessica, can you please lock the basement door?" turn into,
"I like it open" "Can you please lock the basement door" "NO" "Justin will you please lock the door" "Justin don't lock the door" She is putting not only herself, but all of us in jeopardy. She, also, disrespects my mom which is killng me even more because this is my mom's house not Dave's and she has been nothing, but welcoming, nice and generous to her this whole time. Also, it's my mom, she is one of the most hospitable people I've ever known there is no way she would ever be a very very mean person to her.It seems as though everything I like she hates. I was telling my mom that Miyomoto is making a FITNESS game for the Wii. "I don't get videogames, they're stupid, they're for lazy people." Okay, one thing, I wasn't talking to you and two how stupid do you have to be. Another example, me and my mom were talking about the show House(...that's on tonight...)"House is stupid, I don't get it. Me and my friends hate it, we watch Grey's Anatomy." (I'm sorry if you like Grey's Anatomy ) Grey's Anatomy is a soap opera for the people who are against soap operas. And maybe, just maybe the reason, you don't get House is because your brain can't handle the actual medical information you get from House that Grey's Anatomy has an apparent lack of. Another thing she has done is be a total hypocrite like I'll say I like Pops or something, she says I hate Pops. Next day where are the Pops? Oh Justin ate them all. Justin can't have Pops because he's allergic. Oh your good. How much of a dumb do you think I am. Hat to break it to you angel but your not the oldest anymore, your not the perfect angel you think my mom thinks I am and come tomorrow I'm not letting you walk all over me anymore.
Sorry Dione, just one more thing to rant about. Apparently this changed without me knowing it is now the worst thing in the whole universe to give someone your bathing suit, not blow up on them for eating all your food. And the one thing that is even worse is sitting on your own couch because heaven forbid you can be comfortable in your "home"! I swear this place doesn't feel like home.

It sounds as if you and your mom and stepdad need to have a talk and you need to let them know how much this situation bothers you. I have to admit that I would be really upset if I were in your place. Your only other alternative is to talk to Dave's daughter yourself and lay down the law (it may help if you and your sister do it together). Let her know that her ignorant, immature behavior is not going to be tolerated anymore and that if she wants to continue living in this house she had better shape up or ship out - tell her if she dislikes living there so much to go live with her mother and leave you all in peace. But the best course would be to talk to Dave and your mom and let them know that if this living arrangement is going to work out everyone needs to be respectful and pull their wait and treat each other with kindness and caring, no more selfish, childish acts. Hi... sorry to hear you've found yourself in a situation with a step sister from hell.
It sounds to me, as if the girl has issues. Her parents are obviously divorced, so there is one reason she is a brat. She has not accepted it, or else blames herself somehow, causing her to be quite negative and hostile.
She sounds as if she might be depressed, resentful and like her parents have disregarded her feelings and haven't given her much comfort in life. Sometimes negative behavior is the result of family problems which have been left unresolved...
And when kids expect their parents to give them everything and buy them everything, it's usually a replacement for affection and love they feel they are not getting.
Being a young person, she likely has the inability to deal with it all by herself. it sounds like she needs some help and guidance and support. and even a show of respect.
I'm not making excuses for the girl, but her behavior is typical of a child left without comfort, direction and adult guidance or a show of care and concern.
She does need to stop the insanity and the negativity. And it appears she needs help.
She is in pain, i'm sure... and now, it's been transferred to YOU.
talk to your mom.... and take care, hon. i hope things work out eventually.
