Nope. People shouldn't listen to their Pastors and take everything as fact. Pastors are only men, and men make mistakes. The Apostle Paul talked about the Christians at Berea and how they researched what he preached:
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
(Acts 17:11)
The Bible also says:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(2 Timothy 2:15)
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
(1 Thessolonians 5:21)
So, no, I wouldn't jump off a bridge. People should stop blindly following their Pastors though. There are lots of false teachers out there.

Of course no. And that pastor who will order that, is not a true pastor or shepherd of THE LORD GOD. He must be a hireling -one who is in that status for pay purposes only.

No. I only jump off bridges when all my friends decide to jump.

Absolutely. My local bloke is an extremely sane, conservative, elderly gentleman. If he told me to jump off a bridge I can only imagine it would be to save me from certain death from the car/truck/horseman-of-the- apocolypse bearing down upon me.

Saying "I follow God and no man" seems to remove accountablity to one another from the equation.
So, rather, I say I would ask my pastor to lead by example.
I then would study his example in context with the Word, and make my decision from there.

If my pastor could back his purpose up with the Word of God, which would be concrete evidence, I'd think about it.

My pastor is my Bishop. I have sworn to obey my Bishop "in all godly admonitions". I can see no reason how telling me to jump off a bridge would ever be a "godly admonition".
So, no. I would not.

Most Christians, if they really believed, would listen to their pastors because they are closer to God and they know what's best. Just like Muslim clerics who convince people to strap bombs to themselves and blow up innocent civilians. Same crap, different piles.

No, I don't do what my pastor tells me to do. I talk to God and listen to my heart, and I follow that.

I don't follow any person, even a so called "holy" one. Following blindly is how people get involved in dangerous cults.
I just follow Jesus and heed the Bible.
