what are the chances of a probation officer finding out about an MIP that was recieved in a different county?? i have heard that it is not a big deal but i think otherwise. does anyone know?

Being a probation officer, I can check a criminal history at any time on a probationer. Any serious violation would show up. An MIP (at least in Texas) is a Class C Misdemeanor (fine only) and might not be reported, especially if the person were only ticketed and not arrested.
Overall, I would say it was about 50-50 in state, very remote if out of state.

Your probation officer definitely will find out about your MIP ticket. You will be asked by the court where you received the ticket whether or not you are currently on probation at the time you are sentenced and they will notify the court that you are on probation with. Your ticket is also recorded on your driving record (yes, even though you were not driving). Also, sometimes the police agency will contact the court you are on probation with if they are aware you are currently on probation.

That should not hurt you, but you might want to let your CSO know. It would be better if they got the information from you and not found out another way. Just dont make getting MIP's while on probation a habit.

my son is a cop and it depends on your state-how rural you live and the budget they have for computer interaction but yeah most likely he will find out but it may be months from now so if yo get off probation first it may be ok but if u r on it for a year or more better tell him/her first they will be nicer if you tell them
