Some say he's great for making everything. However, he made the mistake of creating free will, the devil, hell, and flawed people. His free will mistake meant that he had to resort to a plan B after the Garden of Eden. A perfect God wouldn't need a plan B, because plan A should be perfect.

Others say he's great for sending Jesus to die for sins. That is unnecessary. He could just understand human nature, define sins as what hurts other people, and not make anyone die or suffer for punishment.

Oh, my. There are so many other sections to get into. A broad knowledge is a good thing to get a big picture. Being narrow is good for some things. It's best to get a few thoughts that are right about different topics. Most can be summarized in a few word. Einstein summarized the universe almost with relativity. We have to collect what is true to see what works. Where people go off is just a road not to go down. We have to set our heart on whatever thing is good, worthwhile, loving and true, and to follow that vision with all our heart and all our soul and all our mind.
I kind of like the saying, "If we don't go within, we go without." We have so much beauty inside, all our love, hope, dreams and a place to overcome our prejudices and fears and to find our courage. Where is the Yahoo section for that? We need one to bring together the best within all of us together. This is a good place. Who shot John, blame, discouragement, accusations, not listening, and things like those are diseases needing a cure. Ranting doesn't help too much or there wouldn't be any problems. Do you really think we should be robots with no ability to feel or understand, is the best plan. Is that what we are. Religion is just an attempt to develop good judgment, understanding and how we can get in tune with the way the universe works and each other. Science produces the technology, we make the bombs, we know little of another way? How is that? How is having a plan bad? You are not judging religion or God, but people and what they do with everything. We need to know where the problem is, attitude is my best word for it. Love is a little vague, but God is supposed to be love and God is also a word. Is the meaning important or not and if we are talking about love and you pursued that with all your heart can't we agree really and not make an idol of words? And avoid foolish arguements over words? A rose by any other name is still the same. Sort of true, at least a start for some.

He's worthy of praise because he created everything and everyone. He's the first and the last; the beginning and the end. He sent his son to die on the cross to SAVE all of mankind and yet he still gives us a choice. God can't do the things u mentioned he has rules to follow also. He gave us free will because the angels were created to worship God he wanted to make ppl who had a choice then when we messed it all up he gave us a way out.

There is no plan B. The world was never said to be perfect in the Bible, although it was called very good. He gives us free will to see who truely loves Him based on their on choice. If He just made us love Him, then it is not real love. That would be like programing a computer to say "I love you" - it really does not. He sent Jesus because He will not tolerate any sin within His presence, therefore, we needed a Savior. Also you say that people should not suffer for punishment. Well then, what about Hitler, Stalin, and Mao? They should be spared from punishment?

He is worthy of praise cause He gave us life through Jesus His son. God is His own Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God sent Himself as Jesus to see how people would accept Him if He was indeed on Earth. He wasn't welcomed by many and He suffered, It's just like us on Earth, we are prejudiced against each other etc. He understands us better than you might think. He (Jesus) died for us to save us all from sin and nonexistence. If Jesus hadn't sacrificed Himself, we wouldn't be here at all. God created the Earth and all things in it and He made it all wonderfully. He gave us free will cause He wanted to see how many of us would choose Him and not go against Him. The Devil was an angel of God. Satan created himself, God didn't make him a jealous angel. He did that himself. Think of hell as a jail. Bad people get punished and go to jail. Well, bad people who never repent for what they did and never believed in God go to Hell. If you live in Christ you'll have life after physical death. If you don't live in Christ then you are dead in this life and after you die you'll stay dead anyway. Live for Christ and you will have everlasting life as God promised. God Bless!

Let me explain to why? this is an interesting question ,but I believe that you don't have all the answers so let me give them to you. To start out, Hell and the Devil don't exist, that's a lie by the church. 2ND, he gave us Free Will because that's the best way to learn because someone can't force you to learn, the best way to do that is the experience of it. Rape , murder etc. are all committed by the human ego. We were created in the image of god However, as we grew older as children many of use begin to lose our innocence. 3rd, Jesus may be God's son, but he isn't the only son of god, so am you and I and were equal to him, God is an ever loving being who's only made out of love. God is ever present and we have to have true relationships with the creators. However, religions like Christianity hides the beauty and true power of our creator.

As far as the "mistake of creating free will, the devil, hell, etc" - this shows that My God (and your God) is not a conceited egotystical God. He has given you the choice of loving Him. I'm glad to know that i'm not a puppet and that i do have free will.

By allowing His beloved Son Jesus die on the cross for our sins shows how far He will go to prove to us of His love. Can you ever say that you are that selfless to ever do the same?

We can't understand why He does what He does. He doesn't need to explain. None of us know each other well. But think of your sin. What have you done that you wouldn't want the world to know about? Jesus knows. He loves you anyway. If He hadn't come to die, those selfish sins couldn't be paid for. You would still be sacrificing your best animals. He didn't want robots to love Him because they were programmed to. He wanted His creations to love Him by choice. If your parents/spouse/kids or whomever loved you only because you made them, it would mean nothing to you. The fact that they know your faults and love you anyway makes all the difference.

He is worthy because he made the world, and everything and everyone in it. God didn't make a mistake. People made the mistake not listening to Him. That's their choice.
