When you wake up you feel sleepy and floppy. As the anesthesia wears off, the throbbing pain will begin. Follow all directions especially don't use straws, do NOT suck, it pulls the healing tissue ('plug') out.
It's not so bad as we fear, thankfully.

I had a couple of wisdom teeth removed several years ago. I actually was awake during it, but of course I had gotten novacaine. It didn't hurt at all while it was happening, or right afterward, but a couple of hours later....damn. I was driving and I had to pull over because it hurt so bad.
It did hurt for a few days, but it was only really bad the first day. The doctor will undoubtedly prescribe some pain medication to take in the days following the surgery. After the first night I didn't have to take the pain meds any more. It still hurt a bit, but it wasn't too bad.
You'll want to eat a lot of soft foods in the days afterward--mashed potatoes, pudding, jello, even baby food.

No you don't feel the pain right away. They should give you something for the pain after the surgery. It's not so bad...you'll just look like a chipmunk for a few days. The dentist should give you instructions on what to do & how to do it. You'll be fine. I had all four of mine taken out at once. You'll be back to normal in about four or five days after.

it all depends... i woke up a little bit early and the surgeon was stiching the whole back togehter... in all honestly i didnt think the it hurt that bad... your checks will swell up and you will look like a gofer for a while...but i went back to school the next day...just make sure you ice to help keep the swelling down... it prly takes the pain down too... mine offered me some pain killers but i didnt want them... and i didnt need ne either. Everyone makes it out to be worse than it is... the worst part is when your done you cant do physical activty for a few days

well you wont feel pain right away as its obvious you are being treated under anaesthesia and its effect tapers gradually after surgery and therby you will be adviced to take anti inflammatory drugs and analgesics or pain killers and antibiotics so you wont be having any painful episodes.
a little swelling may follow but you can get it right by taking drugs or applying cold packs over swelling as the whole regime would be prescribed for a week or so and thereafter there would be no swelling or pain.

you will probably have gotten a novacaine shot during the procedure so you wont feel anything for a few hours, it is important to take an anti inflammatory med like motrin before it wears off, and for the next few days, it helps with swelling and pain, make sure you have something in your stomach so it doesn't get irritated from motrin after a couple of doses

Later when all the pain shots have wore off there will be the most discomfort, but your dentist or surgeon should give you pain killers and if it was a good surgeon there should not be to bad of pain.

you should not feel pain because they numb you so much that you cannot feel your lips. As the numbness wears off then you might fell a little bite of pain and uncomfortness until your mouth remember that it had surgery.
