I finally have a babysitter, my daughter is 5 and my son is 2.5. This year, I would like to go out for my birthday at dinner time, just with my husband. I will do the lunch time and a cake if I go out, but I'm curious on other people. Five years of doing birthday hats-yes, even for my birthday-I would finally like to do an adult birthday!

Yes, I was planning on doing the lunch time birthday party for the kids. With food they like.

I have 2 kids and i don't see a need to make a special lunch or celebration for your kids. save that for their birthdays. I get a sitter for my kids and My husband and I go out and eat on his or my birthday. If the kids want to make me a card or sing me happy birthday then I am all for that but to have a special kids party for your birthday just to appease your kids should only be done if you want to do it or if it is a family tradition.

The kids need to respect that on your birthday it is your day and you should be able to do what you want to do to celebrate and if they want to do something then they can wait for their birthday to do it.

Yes, you deserve a nice time with your husband. When my kids were little, we always had family celebrations at home. It's so nice to get dressed up to go out for a special dinner without the children. Hope you have a quiet, romantic time together.

You need to do both. The party hats and crayon made cards give your kids a chance to express their love for you and then your husband can take you out for an adult, romantic birthday dinner and a movie.

you go girl, have cake and ice cream in the afternoon with the kiddies and then margaritas and dancing with your man at night, take it a step further and get an overnight sitter, rent a hotel room and relax in the hot tub after your dinner and make it a very adult birthday, lol, but seriously no problem in celebrating your birthday the way you want to, its your day after all.. good luck and have a good one.
