Was there all this hype about the end of the world 100 years ago? I mean, it was 7/7/07 then, too. Were people in 1907 less paranoid? Or maybe it's just because they didn't have Yahoo Answers back then.

Oh, and, for the remaining three days before the world ends in fire and brimstone, can we make the 7/7/07 question one for which we drink?

Good lord people do you actually read my question? I don't actually think the world is going to end, I'm poking fun at people who do.

Where's my drink?

Hello,

Yes, this sort of hype has been going on for 2000 years. If you study the book of Revelation you can see that many were expecting the end to come very soon within their times. After that there was great fusses made about the end of the world from whenever a big comet appeared through to a turn over of the century or millenium. All predictions, no matter from whom have been wrong... we are still here.

Yep, any of us could die any day so it is the end of the world for us... eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you may not be here is a good common sense approach to life.

Michael

No. It is not the end of the world yet; as it will happen approx 15 billion years from now when the then old aged earth and the old aged heaven will be melted away and to be replaced by a new earth and new heaven which will come down from celestial heaven to our space. Thus, there is a difference between the end of the world and the ending of the human gov't which is in the 2nd coming of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST in the year 3500. But in the 2nd coming, this earth is still the same only it will be transformed miraculously into a garden of eden and not only the earth but the whole trillions of planets and moons in the entire universe. Even so, the rainbow in this Kingdom of heaven ruled by THE LORD JESUS CHRIST will be an emerald green. Every time some repetitive numbered date appears on the calendar people think the end of the world is coming, but that simply does not make sense.

In the old days, someone would go out on the street and preach the end of the word. Today, Yahoo! Answers is a new source of that preaching.

It was not true then and it is no more true today.

Take care,
Troy

No, it's 8/8/08, or 9/9/09 or 10/10/10, or some other magic number.

Come to think of it, the world ended 01/01/01, but we all slept right through it and didn't notice.

and plus....7/7/07 is THE LUCKEST DAY EVER
its soposed to be the most luckyest day in 2007!
and we wont experience it again for over 100 years
so do something exdorenair!
LIVE YOUR LIFE!!!

Hi, Sarah:

Satan incites enthusiastic people to set dates so it can belittle Christ's promise to come again.

When the date passes uneventful, the skeptic looses faith and is often driven into infidelity. Meanwhile, it subjects God's religion to ridicule.

God has hidden a last-day Bible code that identifies the timing of the great conflict, and it is not over yet--worse things are lingering.

But we are at the closing time of earth's history and will enter a new era. Select www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

There seems to be this absolute fascination with the end of the world, I really don't understand it.

After this it'll be 08/08/08, then 09/09/09, then the Mayan thing, then they'll come up with some other BS.

Sure! Why not? The worlds ending! Why not drink a little :P

There's nothing special about this date. The months are artificial and we work in base 10 of which there is nothing divine about. Its just a cool date that's all.
