Like most people who have tried dieting for years but have gotten nowhere I have decided to go on the "cabbage soup diet" (google it) but upon googling it there is a mountain of critisisms saying that you just put the weight back on because your metabolism gets quite negatively affected but I was considering going on this 7 day diet plan to lose a few quick pounds which will get me motivated for sure but then after that diversify my meals to more protein and vitamins but continue with the fruit and vegetable core of most diets with 45 mins of aerobic exercise for 4 times a week with 2 days weight training. I figure that this will prevent me putting the weight on again and gradually increase my metabolism back to its original levels.

Does anyone have any idea if this will work or there is nothing that can be done to prevent putting the weight back on due to the lack of calories for 7 days?
Thanks

to be honest the best way is not to go on a diet as ive tried them all and diet pills and they dont work lol but just change your diet and go swimming 4-5 times a week for about an hour each time it tones your tummy and all your body up wonderful too ! i lost 2 1/2 stone since may its great and i eat loads too im just eating the right foods but instead of swimming try aqua arobics its great and really fun ! great question goodluck !

You've got a good start, but you need some meat in your diet, as for the cabbage, try this, shread some cabbage and make it into cole slaw, but some dressing, preferably some low cal dressing and eat it that way, or steam it.

Please don't do this.

The body needs small amounts of a lot of things regularly. Eat as wide a variety of fruit and vegetables as you can. Oily fish, some meat and milk.

Exercise each day.
