I have had it at many places, but only at a few was it really good. I like the beef to be a bit crispy, and not with a thick breading on it. Does anyone have a good recipe?

BEEF RECIPE
Chinese Orange Beef

1/2 lb. top round steak
2 tablespoon sherry
2 tablespoon cornstarch
2 egg whites
6 tablespoon peanut oil

Sauce
1 and 1/2 cups beef stock
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 and 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
5 Dried red Chile peppers, broken into pieces
8 Thin slices of orange rind (orange part only) or more
Fresh ground black pepper to taste

Cut meat into 2 x 2 inch pieces. Whisk together the sherry, cornstarch, and egg whites until foamy. Add the beef and toss to coat the pieces well. Set aside. Heat 4 tablespoon Peanut oil in wok. Fry meat quickly, just until crispy and browned, remove to wok rack to drain. Add remaining 2 tablespoon Peanut oil to wok. Add orange rind and red peppers to hot oil in wok. Stir-fry until orange rind begins to darken and aroma from oil becomes pleasant. Add remaining ingredients and stir until bubbly (add more beef stock if too thick). Add fried beef and toss to coat with sauce. Serve at once with steamed white rice.

My own recipe. Take a baking dish. Cut 2 onions not too small, 1 tomatoes, 2 fingers of celery, half a leak, 2 oranges sliced. put this in the baking dish. Prepare the marinade for the beef. Juice of 1/2 a lemon, juice of 1 orange, steak pepper and salt. Add some olive oil and pour it over the meat. Close the dish with alu foil and bake it until it is nearly cooked. Have to turn the beef from time to time. When cooked braise the beef with the liquid in the baking dish. when brown take the meat out. Drain the liquid in a sauce pan. add some gravy granules until slightly creamy. Taste if the sauce need more spices. Serve with parsley potatoes and any vegetables to your choice as a side dish. It is very easy and not too much work. Bon appetite.

Crispy Orange Beef

"A delicious crispy and sweet, yet mildly spiced beef stir-fry recipe served with steamed rice and broccoli."

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 cup long grain rice
2 cups water
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 teaspoons orange zest
3 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
8 broccoli florets, lightly steamed or blanched
2 cups oil for frying

DIRECTIONS
Lay beef strips out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with paper towels. Allow to dry in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, rice vinegar, orange juice concentrate, salt and soy sauce. Set aside.

Meanwhile, combine rice and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until rice is tender. Add more water at the end if necessary.

Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Toss dried beef in cornstarch to coat. Fry in the hot oil in small batches until crispy and golden brown; set aside. Drain all of the oil from the wok except about 1 tablespoon.

Add orange zest, ginger and garlic to the remaining oil, and cook briefly until fragrant. Add the soy sauce mixture to the wok, bring to a boil, and cook until thick and syrupy, about 5 minutes. Add beef, and heat through, stirring to coat. Serve immediately over steamed rice, and garnish with broccoli.

*You can cut back on the sugar or leave it out entirely if you're watching calories. You can also cut back on the oil a bit.

CRISPY ORANGE BEEF

For Stewed Meat:

1 lb stew beef
flour (for dredging)
cooking oil (to sauté meat)
dash of salt and pepper

Sauce:

1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon flour
juice of 1 orange
zest of half an orange
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
pepper, to taste

To prepare meat:

Season stew meat very lightly with salt and pepper and lightly toss in flour. Shake off excess flour. Coat a shallow pan with cooking oil and gently pan fry stew meat.
Drain meat and set aside.

To prepare the sauce:

Add cooking oil to sauce pan and gently cook garlic. Add flour to garlic and oil; cook to remove the uncooked flour taste. It will look pasty at first.
Stir in soy sauce and teriyaki sauce, whisking to prevent lumps. Add orange zest, orange juice, pepper, and all sugars.

Allow sauce to come to a boil and it will thicken. Cook to desired consistency. Toss stew meat in enough of the sauce just to coat it. Serve over rice.
