Everytime I pray in a quiet place away from all distractions. I feel closest to God.....Also when I sit at the waters edge of a beach or lake at 5 am in the morning.....I feel like I can almost hear Gods breath and heart beat as well as feel HIS arms around me..As I talk to HIM about everything and then listen to HIM speak to my heart...

What a wonderful question!!!1 Thanks for asking it...

During the time when my dependancy on him is challenged, I feel him closest when I humble myself during a prayer.

'Closest' - does not compare to the feeling I get when I'm taken over by the Holy Spirit

The music of my youth , be it learned in church, Sunday school or just with lyrics referring to God's majesty, power and grace, can bring me close to tears. It is as if music gets down into my soul and opens it to His presence. Many of the old and new Christian songs have such spiritual ideas in them. And scripture does indicate that God appreciates song. However, once you achieve a close relationship with God, you will find Him everywhere.

I.... Never trust my Feelings..... But the Facts of the Word of GOD!

(James 4:7-to-10) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

(Jam 4:8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

(Jam 4:9) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

(Jam 4:10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Thanks, RR

When I am in His Word daily....
When I obey the Spirit and not the flesh.....

When I sin, that's when I feel as though I've drifted away for a time. But thank God for grace.....without it, we would still be dead in our sins.

i think that you are closest to god when you die... or you pray because you are asking God for things... and at mass because you receive a piece of God/Jesus... because Jesus, God and the holy spirit are three people in one so technically i think it is during mass
