When the word is masculine and singular you replace it for "LO"
When its masc. Plural ---- "LOS"

You're dealing with direct object pronouns. They match the nouns. Here's a sort of shortcut. If the noun is feminine (la pasta) the d.o. is "la." If it's masculine (you don't have one in the example), it's "lo." If it's feminine plural (you don't have one in the example), it's "las." If it's masculine plural (los libros), it's "los." Just look at the definite article (the word for "the" )and you'll be right every time. Don't look at the noun itself, some of them end in what seems like a masc. or fem. ending, but are exceptions like "La mano" and "el idioma." Use my formula and you'll never go wrong. Good luck.
