It's probably best to take him to a vet as he might have intestinal problems and could be in pain .

2 days is a long time to be constipated but it could be more serious than that especially if he is refusing food and drink, go to the vet asap.

When my cats are constipated, I give them a teaspoon of pure pumpkin from a can mixed with thier wet food. Do not give a cat any medication meant for humans without consulting a vet. Most human meds are toxic to cats. Pumpkin is the safest and most popular laxative for cats that I know of. But the fact that your kitty is not eating and drinking for 2 days now is a worry. Is he peeing at least? If the problem goes on for another 6 hours, you'd best take the cat to the vet.

No laxitives, but you can give him a suppository...go to the pharmacy and on the counter (not a prescription) you will see a blue box called babylax it is an infant suppository you insert it into his rectum and squeeze the liquid in...usually produces a bowel movement within 30 minutes if you dont get a b/m within an hour you will have to do another one if nothing comes out second time you will have to take him to the vet because he is blocked severly...good luck they work for my cat who has this problem once in awhile and it saves on running to the vet where they will charge you alot more than the suppositories cost (around $5)

Are you absolutely sure he's constipated. The same thing happened to my cat a few years back. I saw him straining and concluded that he was constipated. Also he would not eat or drink. Turns out he had a urinary tract blockage and could not urinate, a far more serious condition than constipation, Get him to a vet fast. Don't play doctor. Make an appointment RIGHT NOW. and come back and tell us you did that. Cats' Orders!!!

don't give him a human laxitive

there is this stuff you can get at a pet store or just about any store that sells pet stuff it is called laxatone or hairball remedy. you can give him a large dose of that. you can smear some on his paw and he will lick it off.

you can also give him some canned pumpkin. give him a tablespoon of that a day.

if this doesn't help him and he still isn't eating and drinking I would suggest a trip to the vet he could have an obstruction and need an enema or possiable surgery. try the laxatone and canned pumpkin and if it hasn't worked by thursday, get him to the vet.

give him a trip to the vet! constipation may not be the problem. and please, don't go giving him human medications. you could end up killing your cat ! forcefeeding him water is dangerous. if he inhales any he will get aspiration pneumonia. GO TO THE VET BEFORE HE GETS ANY WORSE.
