first of all id like to point out that i have googled the problem. ive looked at all the forums and so forth and i did read the manual (wich is toatally pointless. why do the make it? its a waste of paper! havnt they heard of global warming?)

ok heres the deal. i have a program called poser. everytime i run it the computer restarts.

this is what ive done: virus scan (avast). malware scan (adaware). thingy scan (programs found on forums where answers were given to people with similar problems). oh yeah and then apparently it can get too hot. ive downloaded "speed fan". it used to be at 89 C now its at 75 C and it still restarts.

it restarts every now and then with other programs (like adaware) and every now and then it works. however i have yet to identify the happy winds of fate which allow it to work. otherwise i would have made sure they were in effect all the time...
dont make your answers too advanced please. and if you can include links... liks rock

PS kicking it dosent help.

I would either suspect poor thermal paste between heatsink and CPU or a power supply getting ready to die.

Well, you've tried kicking it. I'm all out of ideas...

How much RAM do you have? Poser likes to hog it, so you might be having problems with memory allocation (which makes windows go poop sometimes), otherwise it may be that your HDD is old or that your OS is not handling Poser correctly.

If it isn't the RAM and not the HDD, try un-installing and re-installing Poser. Is it a legal copy? If not, get one. If you can't, get another (better) "other" copy.

Also, as Teaholic says, get a really big fan and slap it in there.

That's all I can think of. Hope this helps!

75c is still way too hot. You need to cool that thing down. I would get on http://newegg.com and get a more impressive cooling solution. You have a heat problem. Computers restart all the time due to overheating processors.
I applaud you for Googling it first.
