Yes, too much sleep and too little activity can make one fat.
Also, remember that too much sleep could be due to fatigue or stress or depression or some other deeper health disorder which may also manifest as weight gain.

everyone is different. I am 57 and can safely survive on five good hours of sleep. It depends on how many hours you work,, if you have a big family to take care of. Most people say eight hours is normal, but i have never needed more than five or six

Yes, it also makes you lazy.Your digestive system cannot work at it's best when you eat before you sleep.
Your food stays in your stomach longer & turns to fsat when you sleep.

sleep as in rest? or sleep as in being lazy
sleep actually burns more calories than watching tv...so its better to sleep than watch tv if your dieting
