i drove my nissan navara to the local supermarket about fifteen miles away drove it with no problems done my shopping came back to the pick up and the engine would not fire up

Could be that the battery has died on you, gone open circuit so no power.
if it is turning over then it could be a whole host of problems, lack of spark, lack of fuel or fuel pressure, get it to your local shop to be checked out, don't tinker with it as it may be something cheep and aesy for a mechanic to fix, but tinkering could turn it into something very expensive.

In America we have a recall for that products fuel pump sending unit. Called a Fronter Pickup USA. Where the fuel pump power wires go thru the sending unit corrosion eats away the connector. more in damp salty condidtions. Get It towed to your Local Nissan Dealer and insist they check the fuel pump connector. It might even start and run but be careful intermittent connection at the fuel pump may cause stalling at the wrong times.

Because you shouldn't use 4wd on a hard road, no central diff lock, so wind up between front and rear axles. Not like proper 4X4 ie Landrover, which has permanent 4 wheel drive

if it had been sitting not being used for a while before (weeks monthes) it could be the battery.. get a boost.. i would start there.. like if it doesnt even make a turn over noise.. otherwise its probably something else really simple.. check this site it should help http://www.samarins.com/diagnose/index.html

could be the battery or immobiliser. call the aa or rac. if it turns over but doesnt start rip out the immobiliser.

Is it a diesel if it is you may have a crook glow plug ~~
