both of your parents must be carriers of ginger witch means you had a 50% chance of becoming a ginger hair colored baby! After sitting in school for years off end it really does pay off to listen in class! I wish i would have done it more!

When you say 'ginger', do you mean blonde with orange tints, or red? My hair is most definitely red, I don't let anyone call me ginger - if they are going to start with the stereotyping, I can do it right back, see how they like it ... people tend to call me 'ginger' only once.
It's a recessive gene, both my parents were dark, but both families had red, one side more auburnish and the other that pale orange that deserves to be called ginger. I got the auburnish colour, and it's generally considered to be quite attractive.

some scientists reckon its a mutant gene (honest) its only a hair colour no need for any scientific exploration theres kids with heart defects and these morons get money to discover what makes people ginger. anyway i have brown hair and a ginger beard my parents both have brown hair my kid sister has ginger hair her husband has brown hair, her kid has blonde hair. its only a hair colour stop worrying.

what colour hair had your milkman/postal worker etc? Only joking. I did have ginger hair when I was younger, but both my parents had dark brown hair. My grandmother had ginger hair, so it must of missed a generation. That said, I now have wavey brown hair.

You are soooooo lucky!!! I love ginger hair! I have a little tiny bit of ginger in my hair and I love it! If you get teased about your hair say that you love your hair! Brown hair is too common.

well it's a recessive gene so you have it cause both of your parents have the gene but to get ginger hair both parents need to have the gene but your children might not get it if the other person doesn't have the gene that giv es you ginger hair.

Me too.
The ginger gene is a recessive one and often skips a generation or 2.
