The factors guiding the rays of the mantras are primarily the purity of body, soul, and intent. Generally the mantras are so formulated so as to bring a general well being. If meddled too much they can have ill effects too. Hence keep your mind, body, soul and intent pure while reciting a mantra.

No there is no need for us to guide a mantra as we wish. Let the mantra decide which way it wants to take acording to our karma.

Rest assured that any mantra will not harm you if you have pure intent.

Mantras r supposed to be guiding us and not vice versa. Chanting of Mantra regularly will purify ur heart and thoughts. It is said Rishi Valmiki was a robber before he became a saint. He chanted merely Ram, Ram........ and while chanting consistently it sounded Mra, mra........still God bestowed his grace on him and he wrote Ramayana, an epic on the life of Lord Ram for posterity to follow. Though it is said chant with pure heart, but I feel that Mantra has the power to change ur heart and thought, u simply have to chant. A seed when sown in the soil, whether upside or downside in the earth, does sprout and bears the crop of grain, fruit, flowers etc. This is the power of Mantra.

Manthras are not arrows to be directed to a chosen direction.
They are highly potent spiritual energies, meant to be uttered with the greatest reverance and faith.

At the same time there are certain principles in chanting Sowmya Manthras.
It is essential to sit on a non conductive seat.
It is necessary to stick to the same time every day.
It is also necessary to sit and face the same direction always.
Manthras would only yeild benefic results if chanted for a good cause. If it is chanted with an intension to harm others, it would recoil on the person who chants them.

Finally Manthras are not descriptions of God or verses in praise of God, but God itself.
For instance if one chants Shiva Manthra, it is to be understood that he connects himself with the positive vibrations of Shiva, through his mouth.
If chanted silently in the heart, he then receives such vibrations in his heart chakra.

As one chants day after day with utmost faith and purity of heart, then it is said the divine energy will surround him initially as a shield.
Later it descends in him and protects and guides him to higher levels of spiritualism, he deserves.

Therefore Manthras or Beejakshras are truely God itself and has to be chanted with true faith and a heart full of Love and Compassion.

No need to guide mantra or kundalini energies. They are at least more intelligent than us hence they know where to go

The best is seeing your deity in heart chakra and chant his name... and let the lord decide what to do.

We should not try to be smart with energies be it mantra or kundalini... we may guide them wrongly, as our mind is tainted by ahankar, environments and karma
