I got a tattoo on friday and its on my upper left thigh and the guy who did it told me to put vaseline on it then i noticed it getting really dry and my whole leg around it is all brused and it hurts to walk i had a tattoo there before i just got a much bigger one to cover it what should i use to help make it better now that i got told not to use the vasaline anymore cause it could scab and it will be a big mess, and my other question is i got my inner labia peirced and oh my god did it hurt. but i have been cleaning it with the bactine aintiseptic spray and it looks infected but i'm not sure how to tell, i clean it and move the ring a bit then clean it some more but its still hard to sit and i can't wear jeans cause it hurts to much. I read to wear loose clothing but if i wear loose clothes it rubs and it hurts to walk so i wear tight underwear for it won't move and pinch and if i move the wrong way it might start to bleed. is there anything i can do to make me feel better?

as for getting the labia peirced i thought it wouldn't hurt so much, and i'm a daring person and i thought it would help make things more fun in the sack lol.

You should only apply ointment to your tattoo for the first 4 days, so today will be the last day. Our shop recommends A&D ointment. After that you can switch to a moisturizer that doesn't contain perfume or dyes. Luberderm or curel are good choices. Vasoline is not so good, it has no healing properties and clogs pores. Sometimes bruising around a tattoo is normal. Make sure you watch for signs of an infection, the tattoo will look grey and puffy and have a greenish or yellowish discharge coming from it.

As for the piercing go to http://www.safepiercing.org/

it is the web site for the professional piercers association. They have after care advice as well as trouble shooting advice, go to the getting pierced link and you will find al the answers you need
here's some of their advice
Genital
- In most cases you can engage in sexual activity as soon as you feel ready. Comfort and hygiene are vital.
- During healing all sexual activities must be gentle. To increase comfort and decrease trauma, soak in warm saline solution or plain water to remove any crusty matter, prior to sexual activity.
- Use barriers such as condoms, dental dams, and Tegaderm, etc.* to avoid contact with a partner’s bodily fluids, even in long-term relationships.
- Use clean, disposable barriers on sex toys.
- Wash hands before touching on or near the piercing.
- Use a new container of water based lubricant.* Do not use your own saliva as a lubricant.
- After sex, an additional saline soak or clean water rinse is suggested.
- Prince Albert and Apadravya piercings can bleed freely for the first few days.
- If using soap, urinate after cleaning any piercing that is near the urethra. Each body is unique and healing times vary considerably. If you have any questions, please contact your piercer.

OK................First off who ever it was im not sure what the name was, but who ever said to constantly keep a bandage on ur tattoo is VERY wrong. Please DONT do that! Your tattoo needs air, its kinda like ok, um how do i put it into words......ok i know. Ok say u have a cut on ur finger right? ok so u put a badaid on it, bit do u notice how when u leave it on ur skin get kinda wrinkly and moist.........well its cause it needs air to heal its self and dry out! thats how it is with a tattoo!! The best thing u can do is apply NOT vaseline but something like a&d or bag balm to it! and not super thick ok just enough so ur tattoo has a thin shiny layer!!!! And btw ur tattoo will scab. DONT FREAK lol its perfectly ok just PLEASE DONT PICK AT IT!!! as irritating as it is just refrain ur self from picking off the scabs!!!!! Ur gonna wanna keep ur tattoo moist but not saturated for at least 2 weeks or until it feels like "skin" again! after that u should apply lotion to keep it nice and moisturized!

ok for ur piercing!!!
so yeah ive been there done that!! lol first off............if there is alot of redness or swelling ur gonna wanna go back to the person who pierced it so they can look at it. now, if u dont want to do that just yet and u wanna see if u cand fix it ur self u can use the sea salt water routine like the other person said. Go to ur local grocery store or wal greens or some place like that. Ask where the epsom salt is or sea salt either will work! ur gonna wanna get a small glass such as a shot glass. its gonna be 1 part salt to 3 parts warm water! then take a seat on the couch and i shouldnt have to explain what to do next lol.(ps i had to do this when i got my nipples pierced, labia pierced and navel pierced lol)
u should soak it about 15 to 30 minutes about two times a day. U can also keep using the spray u have but also use a small amount of neosporin on the area.

mind u now if it gets any worse u may have to take it out. some people's bodys just cant handle some piercings!!! for me its my navel. ive had it done 3 times now and it always gets infected and i have to take it out lol

wow i hope this helps good luck with the tat and piercing!!!!

Try sea salt/water solution to clean your piercing and for your tattoo usually for the first couple days after getting a tattoo you should use neosporin or A&D ointment ,sparingly. Make sure you keep tattoo clean always and if your out in the sun keep it covered or at least apply sunscreen. Don't pick at it or scratch it, it will scab. Some tattoos take longer than others to heal for various reasons.

Why did you get your labia pierced??? As far as the tat goes, I used Vitamin D ointment and it did fine. You want the tat to scab, it is the natural healing process..More power to you, girl. Good Luck!!
