My core values and convictions haven't changed much, but my
perception how others see and feel has.
Coming from and having lived in Amsterdam, arguably one of
the most secular cities in the world, I had become accustomed to discussing religion in a civilized and polite manner.
I had almost forgotten about the parrots, lemmings, hate spewers, and mockers that inevitability follow in the wider debate.
In short I had forgotten about those that give (their) religion a bad name by their words and actions on this forum.
On the other hand it was refreshing to find people with a strong fire burning within still managing to strongly convey their message without losing their respect for other views.
These rare people I had also forgotten about and they are a credit to their religion even if it isn't mine, nor will it ever be.
So yeah, I'd say my perception has shifted a bit.

Interesting reading the replies. There is no doubt that this forum has an effect on those who read it whether they realise it or not. It has certainly changed some of my prejudices and preconceived ideas about people. I am beginning to feel sane again - so how about that.

Yes, I have changed my belief that more people understood the specifics of human reproduction.

If I have to read one more "OMG--could I be pregnant? My bf and I had unprotected sex and it was blah, blah, blah" question I am going to throw up.
If you have access to a computer (duh) can you not Google it? Can you not go to a Planned Parenthood site, or "Ask the Doctor.com" or even email a friend?

Puh-leeze.

EDIT~ Guess I shouldn't have been so hasty in my smart-alecky answer, since it's clear to me now that you were asking specifically about R&S....
So.....No, I haven't changed my core beliefs, but I certainly have a much better understanding of and appreciation for where Atheists are coming from.

I think a lot of people realize thru this forum that they are not alone with their particular problems. This gives people an outlet for their fears and disabilities that they would not normally have.

It has not changed my beliefs, but it has caused me to study more and increase my faith. So I guess it has "changed" my faith. by making me study the bible and be able to "defend" my beliefs.
It has also given inspiration for the small bible study I teach once a week.

i don't think a forum is gonna change anyones beliefs, if so then their beliefs were very weak. all that goes on here is useless arguing.

Yes, my beliefs have been altered by reading questions and answers on Yahoo Answers. I used to think most people were rude. Now I think most people are rude and stupid. Good question.
