With no prosthetic. I do flex cuffs around the body then flex cuff it to those.
With a prosthetic that doesn't manipulate to his back, I'd remove it.

Cuff him around the feet, that way he can't run off so easily, and maybe attach one side of the handcuff to his hand, and another to the officer in charge, so he cannot possibly get away fast.
