Every particle or atom is having a strange characteristic that they dance to a perfect rhythm just like our heart beat works.
Shiva is there dancing ever where to the rhythm of the Universe. His dance is having two fold meanings. One is for creation and another is TANDAVA the great destruction. The rhythm is feminine..the Mother who dances with her SHIVA.
The NATARAJA ....Master of Dance.

Shiva is within us as our innocence. But not at all as our ignorance. It is imposed innocence which he maintains until he is provoked by the Kali... the great feminine form of Time.
He works like a sleeping volcano..which is always ready to destroy whole universe. We, pray always by praising him as BHOLE NAAT...the most innocent one; because to keep him sleeping forever.

So many names of the Lord, and there are so many stories in the Puranas. Mythology helps one to connect, but does not provide the necessary spiritual experience (Your second question).

Perhaps you have the various answers as provided in the mythology regarding the various connections to the names of the Lord. But this is all imagery of the real experience.

Natraj, represents the Cosmic Dance and this is even seen at the molecular or the electron level, You have to go deeper into the imagery. Once you have an experience Words as a means of communication become limited in expressing, poets resort to metaphors and saints in poetry which is paradoxical and the earlier Rishes and Saints communicated this through Images.

Trinity is the experience of Cosmology as comprehended when one gets from the Microcosm to the Macro, and Shiva is the part of the Trinity and His Manifestation as Natraj is the Vibration, which begins the Nad and the Universe. He is beginning and the End , a string or call it the Linga, parallel in Physics.

I wish people learn the true significance of the Sutras and what Shiva is and what Hinduism is all about. I have so much to convey and so much to tell, I wonder from where to begin,

Start with surrender and bhakti and all His names will appear dear, I will address further some questions and I will also answer them.

God Shiva is well known for dance.Hence he is called Natraja - King of Dance. Hence the classical dancers have natraja idol on the stage or the classical dance classes have .
They honour him first before starting the dance.
Bhole Naathh is given to him because God Shiva grants boon easily to his devotee or who do penance.
This is the reason why mostly the rakshashas did tapasya for God Shiva for boons.
Iam aware of these 2 names which you had said.
Neelkanth is also the name I like since God Shiva drank poison during the amrutmanthan.
Gods were helpless and they prayed to God Shiva. I like this name .

Shiva is called Nataraja (“the greatest dancer”) because he is the origin of knowledge of all beauty and harmony. Life is a Dance, in which Destruction and Creation are merely steps.
Shiva is also called Bhole Nath (“the protector of simple-minded people”) because he is very compassionate to all creatures and particularly to the innocent who look at the world with simplicity and honesty.

Though I like the answer of Copy and paste. Lord Shiva is not the creator. He is the destroyer. Lord Brahma is the co creator under the supervision of Vishnu who is an expansion of Lord Krishna. Lord Vishnu is the Maintainer and above the other Two. Shiva is in a category all by Himself because he is not a jiva soul nor is He the Supreme Lord. He is a partial incarnation and His his mediation is on lord Vishnu's pass times as well as Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna, Rama and Vishnu are one but different moods. Krishna is the source of all incarnations say He and great Spiritual Masters.

The name Natraj means "The King of Dance" and Bholenath means the innocent God.
And I like the name Nīlakantha (Sanskrit नीलकण्ठ) - "(Endowed with a) blue throat." Shiva drank the poison(Halāhala) churned up from the ocean which to save the world (this myth features in the Samudra manthan myth). To find other names of lord Shiva check the following site

Shiva in his dancing posture is known as Natraja. He is easy to please and a majestic giver to the one who asks for a thing and would not look into the motive of the person who is asking him to bless with the power so that when he puts his (asker) hand on anybody's head the person dies. The so called devotee used Shiva's blessings on Lord Shiva only. Then Lord Shiva was defended by Lord Vishnu who came in the form of charming and beautiful dancer who manipulated to kill the person bestowed with such power by Lord Shiva. Lord Vishnu then called Lord Shiva Bhole Nath. I know only this much.

My favourite name for lord Shiva is Bhole Nath as I want his constant love and grace despite all my follies and I pray and wish that Bhole Nath will elevate my thinking to his divine glow and always keep me in his fold.

Nataraj is a name of Shiva, referring to the dancing Shiva. The object of his dance is to free all souls from the fetters of illusion. and Bhole Nath because he is very Bhole Bhale. he never says anything to any one but if once he opens his third eye then no one can survive even not parvati. and Bhole Bhale because he gave away his golden Lanka to Raavan once he asked for that. I also like his name as Bhole Nath.

Nataraja the name of Shiva in Chidambaram in Tamilnadu. Nata is short form of Natanam (Dance) raja is kind. In this cosmic form he is bestowing protection from both evil and ignorance to those who follow the righteousness of dharma.

Shiva is called Bholenath. Bholenath, means the innocent God.He is Bhola. He grants every wish of anybody without any distinction. Though he is generally called as RUDRA and destroyer, whenever anyone goes to him for obtaining any boon he silently grants and saves his devotees. So he he called by this name.

For both these name there is no specific mythological stories and the above are only the meaning.

All his names are beautiful and meaningful. The names I like most are OMKARANATH - meaning Creator of OM and OM himself, and JAGADEESHA meaing Eashwara if Universe -
