1) Trinity is taken from [1 John 5:7 (King James Version)], has been used sometimes to prove that Trinity is taught in the Gospels. The verse says: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one".

2) "Jesus as Son of God" is taken from [John 3:16] has been used to prove that Jesus is Only Son of God. The verse says: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son".

3) "Jesus as God" is taken from [John 10:30] has been used to prove that Jesus is God. The verse says: "I and my Father are one".

Yet, these verses have been removed from the Revised Standard Version of the Bible (RSV) by Christian scholars of the highest eminence backed by cooperating Christian denominations, as it was an interpolation, a later addition to the text of the statement.

Please comment. Thank you.

1. You are correct on this. This was inserted by trinitarians into the King James version. It is not contained in any Bible today.

2. We are all sons of God, but Jesus is the son of God in that he was created DIRECTLY by God. That is why he is called "the only begotten son of God"

3. This means simply that Jesus and God are one in purpose.

This has a comprehensive debunking of the trinity:

The Trinity are the three aspects of God in Christianity. They are the Three in One and the One in Three. They are no more separate than your hand is separate from your head as making up part of you. That's the best way of grasping it.

Here's my understanding of it:

The Father is the aspect of God which is Infinite, outside Time and Space.

The Son is the aspect of God which is Incarnate in this world and in Man.

The Holy Spirit is the aspect of God which is both outside and inside Time and Space. In other words, it is the aspect of God which is everywhere, pervades everything. The original Greek term for Holy Spirit is Agyion Pneuma meaning Holy/Divine Breath. It is the same concept as Prana in Hinduism, if you like.

If it helps, think of the Trinity as three interlocking rings, as the Medieval mystic and genius interpreter of the Trinity Joachim de Fiori did. The first is the Father, the second is the Son, the third is the Holy Spirit. The Son becomes the bridge between Father and Holy Spirit, enabling God's energy to enter into this world and become truly active and transformative in us and in Nature. The image of the Borromean Rings illustrates this. You will find this image in churches and cathedrals and on the Net if you do a search.

That's my understanding of it. Judaism and Islam talk about God being One. The Trinity is an expression of the energies within this Oneness (just as the Jews and Muslims actually have manifold names for God, each one having a different meaning for a different aspect of God). But in this threefold exploration of those energies the idea is still that they are One. The Trinity is NOT polytheistic anymore than you having two arms, two legs, a head and a torso makes you six-fold. The significant difference between Christianity, Judaism and Islam is that Christianity, uniquely, believes that God can become incarnate as Man - Christ - and IN Man - the Holy Spirit - and is not just a remote being outside Time and Space separated from Man by a gulf of Matter.

The Prophets of old or even today can see spiritual vision. It is because in human sense, they have a third eye so to speak. This 3rd eye is actually their sense of wonder. And they see wonderful creations all around them like the light, the planets, the sun and the universe. And the micro world say men living in the billionth- billionth- billionth of a second, yet we do not perceive this time occurring:before our very eyes or a billion, billlion of years which we dont have the opportunity of experience and perceive them as well. And these are only examples of the servants of GOD seeing them with their third eye or their sense of wonder. Thus, at this point in man's history, we have a book of wonder called the Bible and the christianity that it espouses. Additionally, Christianity is a belief of life beyond the grave; a life even unto eternity or eternal life. And THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the WORD OF GOD about these divine plan for mankind. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the MESSIAH who have redeemed mankind from eternal death or damnation. HE is mankind's savior. For witnesses other than Christians, the Prophet Mohammad in a vision was brought by Archangel Gabriel to heaven and saw THE LORD JESUS CHRIST standing in the right hand of GOD; while Mohammad remained with the audience in a heavenly assembly among the Prophets. St John the baptist was also a witness of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST when he declared HIM as THE LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sins of mankind. And another witness is the Prophet Isaiah 9:6 that states that the one who will be born of a virgin woman will be called MIGHTY GOD, WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR (HOLY SPIRIT), EVERLASTING FATHER and PRINCE OF PEACE. In this vision of Prophet Isaiah is where TRINITY is based as THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is THE EVERLASTING FATHER; AND HE IS ALSO THE SON OF GOD and HE IS ALSO THE HEAD OF THE HOLY SPIRIT as WONDERFUL COUNSELOR. These are one of the many reasons that one should believe the Bible and Christianity as well. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. John 10:30 does not teach Jesus is God, anymore than

husbands and wifes are the same person.

Paul and Apollos are the same person.

The apostle John believes in the God and Father of Jesus.
(Rev 1:6)

Jesus believes in his God and Father (Rev 3:12)

Paul believes in the God and Father of Jesus (Rom 15:5,6)

Peter believes in the God and Father of Jesus (1 Pet 1:3)

To understand John 10:30, read to vs 36, and you will see he equates himself to the human judges (gods) of Israel.

He then finishes by saying he is God's Son.

Stick with the original King James Version.
The wording is powerful, eloquent, and beautiful to read and to hear spoken...it touches you.
Other progressive versions have stolen the beauty & the power of the words and message.

An easy way to understand The Trinity is how my science teacher taught me in school.

He said H2O (water) has three forms: ice, steam, & liquid.
Each different in appearance, but all still H2O.

I had no idea they were taken out. I think you might be mistaken, but I don't own an RSV so I can't be sure.

The trinity is a doctrine of the church (something whose validity is based on fractures of scripture and not backed up objectively e.g. Jesus died, and we can prove it through records unrelated to the Bible in addition to scripture.) I don't think much of doctrines, as I am not well learned in the passages of the Bible.

It is my understanding that God as a trinity is both uniquely Christian and fundamental to the Christian faith (how can one have a personal relationship with God- to know who he is without knowing what he is?) The Bible would be sorely missing without it.

Jesus also says to "go to all the nations preaching and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy spirit. If you read the Gospels, the separate identities of the Persons of the Godhead become apparent at times such as when Jesus was baptized, when the Holy Spirit descended on Him in the form of a dove, and a Voice came down from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased."

There is no shortage of verses referring to Jesus as God's Son, including the one referred to above. The Gospel of Luke, for example, tells of Jesus' conception to a virgin through the power of the Holy Spirit, so the Child conceived in her would be called the Son of God.

The whole first chapter of John is deeply involved in proving the divinity of Jesus Christ. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS GOD." Lest there be any question who the Word is, John clarifies, "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us."

John knew Jesus personally and had a very intimate friendship with Him. If anyone knew Jesus and could verify Who He was and Who He claimed to be, it was John, one of Jesus' closest friends. For this reason, if you want to answer your doubts on those issues you stated, I strongly suggest you study the gospel of John in depth. Then you might continue to study by going on to read the next book of the Bible: the Acts of the Apostles (Acts). And you might be interested in the Epistles of John 1,2,and 3 (written by the same apostle John), and the Epistles of Peter, written by another of Jesus' closest disciples. Such firsthand accounts should help you to understand what those who truly knew Jesus believed about Him, and what their understanding of Him was.

I've always thought of the trinity concept like either an egg or water...both analogies work. An egg is made up of a yoke, white, and shell and all three parts are separate yet all are needed to form the egg. the water analogy is that water can consist of three states...solid...liquid...and gas...yet all three states are still H2O particles.

I hope that you aren't confused by all the answers that you've got so far! your question is too important, and should be dealt with carefully.

If you agree, lets start with a simple step, and then we can continue dealing with your concerns one at a time. The simple step is to ask God himself, In prayer, to help you and us understand His will and His word. Like for the next few days, we may do that every day for a few minuets.

Our prayer could be as simple as saying (from Our Hearts) something like:

My great God in heavens, open my heart and mind to understand your word. Reveal yourself to my heart and spirit. help me to come closer to you, and to know you in a better way ...

Others, who may read this, may wanna join us in doing this. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian, Muslim, or even if you don't believe in god! He will listen to you anyway, because He loves you as you are.

After doing this simple yet great step, we can continue dealing with your questions. What do you think?
