Why do people think screaming is easier than singing?

Question

I'm not talking cookie monster vocals,

I mean high singing with pitch,

I worked for years to be able to control it, and people think its easy.

Do you mean like Iron Maiden and early Pantera-type vocals? Yes, those are my weak point. I wish I could sing as high as Phil Anselmo on Cowboys from Hell. Or are you talking about sort of a Children of Bodom or Cradle of Filth thing? Those are hard to tackle as well.

Pay no attention to the all these answers. Screaming is much harder than singing (possibly barring opera), because it is more demanding on your vocal cords and requires much more air. Personally, I have all the singing talent of Fat Mike, but I have a better scream, and let me tell you people, screaming while playing an instrument is MUCH, MUCH more difficult than singing and playing an instrument (no matter how on key you are).

Hi, Screaming is a natural thing to do when your scared. Singing you have to have good tone and learn the right way to sing. I myself sound like a dead frog when i try and sing anything. Lol lol

Everyone knows how to scream or yell, because it's a natural instinct. Singing...well some people just plain suck at it and not all people have good singing voices.

WELL, seeing how you worked for YEARS to control YOUR singing voice, it would seem that even YOU agree that screaming IS, indeed, easier than singing.
