Yes. Poverty is a virtue when we accept only what is necessary for our survival. People are always wanting more, more. Poverty does not mean starving, or being homeless. It simply means to give up the desire for material wealth in favor of simple living and higher thinking. Without material trappings, we can devote more time to developing spiritual qualities, instead of working for more and more "things", expensive clothing, status symbols, and trendy homes.

In my opinion, poverty is not a virtue. What good can it possibly do for anyone? Not being RULED by money and possessions is a virtue, but that's not the same thing as poverty.

I dont know if I would call it a virtue. I would say that I think poverty is a trial of faith. I know that people with money tend to forget God alot of the time. Skip church to go to shows, vacations ect. I am poor. My husband is a sunday school teacher, and in classes to be a missionary/pastor. I am ok with being poor, my husband and my children and our work in life is enough for me, even without all the fancy stuff.

Noota Oolah, is authentic. Poverty is a 'project'. it is not a function/high quality it rather is a individual would have, inclusive of kindness and staying power. characteristics like kindness and staying power empower one to handle others with understand. Poverty does not empower everybody to do something. And, properly pronounced Xamantor...I grew up in poverty and that i don't comprehend why some human beings have a romantic view approximately this form of terrible and debilitating project. i think of that the act of religious establishments to evangelise poverty as a distinctive function is a millennium-long endeavour to stop the damaging majority from killing the moniority of wealthy human beings.

I don't think that poverty is a "virtue" unless it is a chosen way to live... Most people that live in poverty are born into it or have lost everything and have to start over...
God helps those that help themselves...

Poverty in NOT virtue. when you are poor you get in troubles and thus you pay less attention to the morals!!
virtue is in living true and sane; whether you're poor or rich or in between. but usually poverty leads people to the bad deeds and immorality.

No. God created humans and gave them a beautiful garden and all the trees for food. He did not hold back anything, save one single tree for himself. No, poverty is a human condition, one of the plagues upon our planet. Did you know that our planet the way it now, polluted and wounded, can feed every single human being fully with much to spare? Why is it that half the population is starving? That 10,000 children under five are going to die each year of diarreah due to not obtaining sustenance? The distribution of goods to a few who have money, and the others are left out. I can't imagine God liking this situation, saying that it is good for our health.

It is not a virtue but the thing about povrety is that it will be easy to follow God and depend on him while richness makes you probably depend on ur money instead of God

Not to mention that More rich=More responsible=Less peace of mind
As for povrety u have nothing to worry about or afraid to loose which means peace of mind

But THAT ONLY IMPLIES IF U ARE SATISFIED OF WHAT U ARE AND WHAT U HAVE

poverty in and of itself is not a virtue. im poor and trust me i dont feel very virtuous about it. now taking a vow of poverty could be considered a virtue because you are willingly giving up wealth and material possessions to further your belief.
