Isn't faith just believing is something for no good reason other than thats what you were taught to believe?

There is not evidence, there is no proof, and as long as you don't ask questions and just believe on faith. ONLY THEN can you be good christians.

What started this mentality, it sounds like its out of the dark ages to get people to never question their religion that controlled them oh so well.

People need to believe and have faith in something. It's caused by self doubt and a feeling of uncertainty. You can have faith even if your not religious. But religion has been a powerful instrument in the controlling of the masses in the past, for churches and Governments.

People are like sheep, they follow what they're told to believe. I find it sufficient to have faith in myself and my place in the universe. I don't need to follow any dogmatic rules. If everyone did likewise there would be a lot less friction in the world.

Man has been bestowed with consciousness.
Within the higher levels of consciousness, man comes to an understanding of the difference between the human specie and the animal kingdom.

Faith within man is what separates a human being from an animal.
If a person is without faith, that is a sign they have not yet developed any of the higher levels of consciousness.

This is why Faith is so important to man!

It isn't out of the Dark Ages. It's what caused the Dark Ages.

In Christianity, it originates with Paul. Paul never met Jesus (visions of the dead don't count), didn't know much about his life, and disagreed with most of his teachings. However, Paul still wanted to be a leader of Christianity.

Since his teachings were strongly opposed by the original disciples of Jesus and he wasn't capable of beating them in a debate, Paul stressed the importance of faith. Unfortunately, the concept caught on and has been a blight on the religion ever since.

I was taught to believe this, having said that, I have done the math and research myself...

Faith connects us to God... because I believe in him He works through me, I asked God after the worst 3 years of my life to teach me the lessons easier... However the worst 3 years of my life really showed me who God was and is.. How real He is and cemented my faith...

I ask plenty of Question and my Pastor has plenty of answers.

No (this is not means to control me/ or the masses), because I can go straight to the father and He talks to me... (Hold on don't call the guys with the straight jackets and meds) I am 100% sane, I don't actually hear audibly the voice of God although if I wanted to I could ask God for me usually impresses things on my heart that I wouldn't have thought about....

In Jesus is true freedom...

Faith is what you believe that is the basis for your actions.

MAtters not whether there is proof or not - if it's the basis of your actions then it is faith.

Thus it is impossible for anybody to live w/o faith - even athiests have faith in something, else they could nto make day-to-day decisions. Will my money be safe in the bank? Will my spouse love me forever? Will my boss really pay me every two weeks? Will the market not crash and I be left penniless?

That is what faith is - a big difference between athiests and believers (in whatever god concept) is that believers integrate a god concept into their faith.

Hope that helps.

Cos without it you'd have no ability to 'believe in' The Invisible Sky Critter because there is no evidence to justify its existence that would EVER stand by itself in a court of law.

i dont like faith, or 'god' because of the fact as Marilyn Manson says "Im terrified of what they characterize, 'god' exists extra in track and paintings and creativity than it ever would desire to in any faith because of the fact theres too plenty anger and hatred and worry there" and additionally i think of its form of pathetic how christians dont take responsability, i advise they do incorrect, confess it and then they haven't any guilt or remorseful approximately from what they did because of the fact ''god forgave them'' yet i think of that they'd desire to verify from their errors and take responsability for his or her strikes. particular I actual have self belief, such as you reported with the mechanic occasion, and in general in track, track is what i think in. I understand that the bible has sturdy morals and policies to stay via, some that each and every physique would desire to stay via yet then it has some what arnt so sturdy. Ex in the adventure that your advised to love each and every physique, love your enimies, then what value does that placed on love? none in view which you cand understand love without understanding hate because of the fact thered be no longer something to assessment it so youd understand diverse. yet i think of what i will pull from that to make extra sence is basically to tutor appreciate for each physique, even those which you hate because of the fact they have thoughts too. Dont pass burning their abode down or something!

we step out in faith each and every day. you included.

remember the people who went to work at the wtc on 9/11? if you go to work each day and don't spare a thought to whether your life will soon be over, you are stepping out in faith. or did you get a written guarantee that your ticket won't get punched any time soon?

for every child that has parents, they live in faith that their parents will not harm them, will feed them, and will love them. no guarantees there, wouldn't you agree?

millions of americans get diagnosed with deadly illnesses each day. do you sit in a dark corner and worry that you could be next? of course not...through faith, you move through your life as if you could never die of cancer or diabetes, or whatever. are you holding a "get out of the hospital "free" card"?

we live each day of our lives with faith that it won't be the last, that the people we love will always love us, that, in spite of all the bad things we hear all around us...it won't happen to us...

It provides comfort, a sense of security, community, and a feeling of moral certitude. Of course, that's all based on fiction but it does fulfill emotional needs that cold, analytical science cannot.

My faith grows each and every day I am alive. Of course I have faced many trials of my faith.

Hope and Faith are much bigger than fear and doubt.

As far as education goes... there is no one more educated than the faithful, for who can know more than G-d?

Sometimes I marvel at the advantages He has given to the meek and humble.

There can be no hope or faith if we have evidence for everything.

The apostle Paul in writing to his aide, Timothy, defines the nature and purpose of scripture in these words: "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (II Timothy 3:15-16)

You know truth when you hear it.

And you know the Holy Spirit when you receive it.

And for that matter, everything we have was given to us by G-d Almighty himself. Your Body, your wisdom, your last meal.

James 1:2-5

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
