Ok, I had a previous question about the amount of dog food I was feeding my golden retriever, and almost everyone said he was obese. I don't know if they actually watched the video or not, but here is a better video that shows his side view of his body. Please tell me if he looks overweight, and to what extent.
Click here to see the movie (it is the featured video on my channel):

Thanks for the answers, keep em coming I guess. But I do have to kinda feel around to actually feel his ribs...that's why I was asking.
To Kiki B:
Yeah, he LOVES playing in the kiddie pool. I also have a video of that on my channel if you care to look.

Cool video! I enjoyed it thoroughly! Beautiful Goldie- what a doll ! Perhaps just a smidgeon, on the borderline, of watching his weight. Not obese by any means. With the way you love & care for him, I don't think he'll have a problem - U R watching out 4 him real good !

He looks healthy..maybe a few pounds over weight, but not bad. He looks more like he could use a little exercise....he appears to be a bit lazy (lays down to drink and them rolls over) however, I don't know what he was doing before this movie was taken. He probably just got back from a walk and he's pooped! If you are worried that he is over weight, check out the portion of food you are feeding him on the bag of dog food you feed. Are you feeding the right proportions suggested by the dog food company? Your vet would be able to give you the best advice as he/she can feel your dog to see if there is a little extra that he may be carrying around. He's cute, though...I like the way he drinks his water....he sure seems to love it!!

I wouldn't say overweight but he looks like he could spare 3-5 lbs. This will help prevent joint problems. He is very beautiful and I'm sure he is in his weight range but it's always good to have some room for fluxuation. Remember, you should be able to feel his ribs but not see them. Oh, and if the vet says your dog is overweight, John, he probably is. Just beacause you have been a dog owner for 28 years doesn't make you an expert or give you credibility. In fact it makes you look like a bad dog owner who is more concerned with watching television than helping his dog loose weight. Sorry, I just can't stand people like that.

I most likely would not say she's obese however at eighty lbs, for a feminine, she would traditionally lose a couple of kilos. The ordinary weight of a feminine GSD is forty eight-seventy one lbs. Exactly how so much are you feeding her? Many of the puppy meals luggage honestly advocate approach an excessive amount of meals. I feed my two yr historic Golden Retriever approximately three cups an afternoon, unfold out over 2 foods. It was once two cups however I felt it wasn't sufficient for her, however a few individuals do feed huge puppies two cups an afternoon. By the best way, she's lovely. I've constantly adored German Shepherds.

He is very big But for a golden retriever that is average wieght. Your dog is a perfect size for your type of dog. Dont worry what anyone else says. He is perfectly normal.

He sure is a charmer. No, he does not look overweight, looks about right for his breed. I bet he likes outside kiddie pools to play in, try throwing some ice cubes in one, I bet he would love it!

You should probably just see a vet to find out. You can't really judge by looks alone. Or, you could just weigh it, and find out BMI's for dogs on the net.

If you can't feel his ribs he should go on a diet, see what your vet says about his weight. That's who you should listen to. He looks happy! All the best;~)
