Since you just want it to be the two of you that is the best way to do it and not at all expensive. If you want to do it the day you get the license then you should call the court clerk first and make sure someone is available to perform it. You can either bring two witnesses or they'll have someone who can witness for you. If you want to do it after you get the license then just schedule it the day you pick it up. Congratulations.

It's perfectly alright to get married in a court house, but it isn't very romantic. Dress nicely anyway. Get a small bouquet and find some background scenery for some pictures to capture the memory. Go somewhere later for a romantic lunch or dinner to celebrate. Another option might be a public park where you might ask a pastor to officiate the private ceremony. Best wishes.

If that is how you guys want to get married then go for it. As long as you guys are happy. Then just have a nice reception later with a couple close friends and family.

If that's what both of you really want I say go for it! No need in having a huge wedding if its not important to you. Family and friends can celebrate with you guys later

My spouse and I were married by a judge in a courthouse over 40 years ago. I think it is ok.
Most important is what you and your intended want.

Of course it's okay, so long as that's what both of you want. If you like the idea and he likes the idea, then go right ahead and do it your way!
Big weddings aren't for everyone. If they aren't for you, then don't have one.

You could do that, or find a little chapel to do it at. I was lucky and did both! It made both of us happy, and we're going strong. It's all about preference and what makes you happy.
